Virtually nothing. Noticed a couple of drawer handles and one on the Wardrobe had been knocked off by past occupants. If they had been around I would have refitted them with my trusty screwdriver.!!🤣

Stone construction, very spacious. Linens were lovely and clean.

I was surprised that there were no kitchen staples, such as salt and pepper, tea, coffee, or oil. This is the first time I’ve stayed in a location without these. Also, the washing machine did not work properly, and I spent an entire night rewashing, wringing, and attempting to dry my laundry. Yikes! Also, the walking path to the town (the website mentioned one but did not show it on a map) was padlocked at the edge of the property.

East Lodge is very well situated in the peaceful Galloway countryside, but only 5 minutes drive or 15 minutes walk (along a private path by the river) from Newton Stewart and its facilities. The property is modern (or newly renovated) with a good range of kitchen/dining facilities, a good shower, good quality TV, and sizeable bedrooms. For us it was a good base both for walking and cycling. Useful information on local walks was provided. We were also very fortunate with the weather.

There was plenty of cutlery and plates but no kind of rack or receptacle for drying. Half a toilet roll wasn't enough for 6 days. There were no instructions regarding rubbish collection. There was no broom or dustpan and brush to keep the property clean.

Lovely location, quiet and remote but a few minutes' drive from Newton Stewart if you need things. Clean, comfy apartment with everything you need. Hosts were fantastic and responded to queries very quickly.

Modern cottage, within walking distance to the town , clean , staff very helpful

The fact you can’t turn the heating on in the property , we did contact the host who sent some one out to help us turned out there was a problem with the heating on the cottage luckily the weather good so we didn’t need it but they did offer to get a plumber out to fix it . Would be nice to see a small welcome pack on arrival

The lodge was in a quiet and pretty location and on arrival I was pleased with my choice . It was clean and furnishings were modern and satisfactory . However things went down hill and response and lack of communication, action to resolve were poor so overall it left me disappointed.

No hot water for 2 days and no heating/ bathroom heater for whole trip. I called emergency contact number given in the welcome book only to get an answering machine and no response. Phoned another number PM and she kindly said she would chase . However day 2 still no hot water & radiator in bathroom stone cold with a damp chill in the lodge. No communication / updates or concern from owners which is poor customer service. I got my towels dried outside on the 1 sunny day . Got a hot shower from day 3 but no heating to remove damp chill and no heat in bathroom . It isn't a heated towel rail its a radiator and it states in welcome book it has no controls as its always hot ! Sadly the lodge didn't deliver the basics - hot water and cosy atmosphere so I left disappointed and will not return. Surely its not hard to have hot water and heating and if there is a problem update the guests and fix it quickly.

Clean wee cottage, great if you’re looking for peace and quiet, location was lovely

The couches in living-room wasn’t very comfy, there wasn’t a large enough cooking pot, Needs a wok in kitchen

Good location, quiet. Met our needs with having our dog with us

Couldn't find an obvious location to get down to the river so the dog could have a swim :)
