Trembling Madness Apartments

Fantastic base for a long weekend. Central location, accommodation had everything you needed, breakfast box was excellent. Bonus of having a cracking little real ale pub on the doorstep too. Would highly recommend!

The funky decor and all the mod cons, so much attention to detail and in a fantastic central location. The owner was very helpful and the staff at the shop/pub were super friendly. From the retro games and carpet from ‘the shining’ to the fresh coffee bean machine and comfiest beds. We will be back!

Nothing not to like only that nearest carpark is 7 min walk away but can’t be helped.

This is not advertised as haunted. We visited their bar above the shop and it’s advertised as the haunted chamber. This is also noted on the WiFi password box and on a sign above the fireplace. We didn’t sleep much the first night but ok the second as we didn’t find it haunted, creeky etc. The shower in the bedroom sprays water everywhere making it impossible to shower without getting wrapped in the shower curtain.

Location

Tolles aussergewöhnliches altes Haus, etwas spooky. Die Küche des Apartments war gut ausgestattet.

Zu viert mit Schlafsofa etwas eng, Dusche war schwierig zu bedienen.

The property is very cute and in a great area of York. Beds were comfortable.

The property is very old with uneven, slidy flooring and across several flights of very narrow stairs. Though the place was generally clean, there were several very large spiders about and lots of cobwebs which made the place feel unsanitary. We had a leak in the roof of the kitchenette when we arrived and the owner was very quick to organise someone to come around to check to see if the property was safe to stay in and told me over the phone that he would give me a partial refund due to the hassle on our first night. He has since ignored my messages and not provided the refund - very disappointing.

Its location is good.

We couldn’t stay here. It was CREEPY, I’m talking dead puppy head mounted to the wall over the fireplace creepy, and much more. I messaged the property with no response, repeatedly. Very unhappy with the service provided, or lack there of more like.
