"We enjoyed visiting Newcastle upon Tyne and the location of the appartment was good"

Good location. Size of apartment.

The appartement had British โ€œcleanโ€ standard: dirty carpet and outside the building/parking place lots of rubbish: probably British standard. What we really DID NOT LIKE that AFTER confirmation of the booking and payment of the booking with booking.com on August 22, a deposit of ยฃ500 ( โ‚ฌ604) and all kind of private information, because of that, was requested: a.o. a copy of ID. In order to manage the deposit, ยฃ10 was needed. THIS DEPOSIST REQUEST WAS NOT MENTIONED IN THE BOOKING.COM INFORMATION!!! Nor the ยฃ10 was mentioned in the Booking.com information. Paid on August 22, โ‚ฌ604, Return of deposit was Paid on September 12, โ‚ฌ561. British ยฃ, had meanwhile devalued and the return deposit had a loss of โ‚ฌ43. A good thing was that we are slim Persons of light weight, because the legs of the four table-seats were very frail Such Seats must have difficulties with heavy weight persons or such table-Seats collapse.

"I would not stay again."

property cleanliness very poor. there was bedding missing for the amount of people booked for. some bedding not clean. only 4 towels provided for family if 6 as per booking. unable to contact anyone via provided channels, message sent through booking.com and response received the following evening, but no resolution, just say they are looking into it. since checking out I have been receiving messages stating that if I left 10 star review I will receive ยฃ20 Amazon voucher!! absolutely not a chance would I leave a dishonest review nor would I recommend staying here, particularly with children.

"AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Nothing like the advertisement, dangerous terrace/patio."

The location was good for us visiting family in the North Shields area, but it is 6/7 miles from Newcastle City Centre.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! After booking (non-refundable) and paying a ยฃ35 damage deposit, I was asked to pay another damage deposit of ยฃ500! We arrived at apartment No.2, it was in a very poor state, smelling, badly stained, work tops damaged, paint and sellotape peeling off walls, punch hole in bedroom door, and no toilet paper. The first โ€œbedroomโ€ didnโ€™t even have a window! After eventually speaking to a "property manager" we were moved to apartment (No 6). Although slightly better condition, immediately on entering there was an overpowering smell of cannabis, the bedroom and lounge windows had been left open in an attempt to clear the air. One of our family has breathing issues so we couldnโ€™t stay here. After ignoring our request for a refund, we were moved to another apartment (No 5). This was the best of the three, but still had stains, broken door handle (so we couldn't close the bedroom door), missing/sunken floorboard under carpet, broken chair leg. The sofa was so dirty we had to put a sheet over it to sit on. Despite still advertising as having a patio (a specific reason we had chosen these apartments), we couldnโ€™t use the roof terrace as the wall had fallen down (apparently after a storm in Nov 2021). Our Deposit refund was meant to be within 7 days of checkout, but it took 15 days of chasing and threatening action through trading standards to eventually get our ยฃ500 back! Locals told us the apartments are used for social housing and not really holiday apartments, this would explain the additional ยฃ500 deposit. The standard of the accommodation is very poor and the website photos were obviously taken a long time ago and in no way reflect the current standard. There was no mention prior to booking about additional fees, nor was there any advance warning regarding the dangerous patio/terrace! Very poor customer service, and the failure to refund the deposit promptly was unacceptable and had me wondering if I had been scammed.
