The Shepherd's Hut with seasonal swimming pool

We loved how remote the location was, it’s perfect for getting away from everything! The host, John was so welcoming and friendly! The hut itself is just lovely, feeling bigger inside and had everything you needed; a great dvd collection & a great bathroom for such a cosy space. A shower/fridge and the swimming pool were great perks that we haven’t experienced at other similar stays! Great value and we would definitely return!

Location and facilities

Absolutely stunning location. Very very quiet and great chance to escape from a hectic modern lifestyle. Felt like it was off grid but had all the comforts of running water , hot shower etc.

What a brilliant, quirky, peaceful place!! The hut was cosy and contained everything needed for our four night stay. The way the properties land has been designed by the host John is magical with lots of randomly mown pathways to follow leading to things like a little ‘dragons den’ and a ‘crocodile island’! The adjoining meadow with the bench in the middle to sit and watch the sunset was just perfect as well. It’s a fantastic place to stay to get away from the daily grind of life for a while and also perfect for families with children. There was also the option for children to pitch up a little tent anywhere in the grounds but still under the watchful eye of the parents which I thought was a great idea.

The weather!! It wasn’t quite warm enough for us to make use of the outdoor pool.

Although we had a little bit of difficulty navigating our way down the roads, upon following John's (our host) directions, we found it perfectly. Such a peaceful and picturesque location surrounded by beautiful fields.
