Walmgate Cottage

I wasn’t aware there were stairs to the bedrooms and bathroom. It felt a bit segregated.

TV is broken. Fridge tray broken so couldn't open the fridge door. Eventually got it open and removed the tray. Hot water for the sink was scalding hot. Needs to be turned down. No oven mits or extra tea towels.

Lovely little cottage with views over the canal. Close walking distance to everything in central York. Comfortable rooms and tidy upon arrival. Easy to check in and out.

Great central location yet still peaceful. Very spacious & comfortable. A bit quirky as it is a “wonky cottage” as it’s so old & floor levels etc are all out but this added to our experience. We have visited with Stays York a few times & again they have been very helpful & accommodating. We were able to delay check out time by an hour maybe as no one was checking in the next day .

We were very lucky to get a tight parking space to get into using the permit. If visiting again for a weekend we may decide not to bring a car.

Location was superb, sleep was great - really, really quiet despite central location. Lovely garden and by the river

Finding the property was quite a challenge! Subsidence meant rather uneven floors.

Excellent location short walk from the town , clean , warm , lovely garden at the back,very secure property.

Nothing to dislike.

Charming apartment on the canal with view of bridge Perfect location near to everything, and just a twenty minute walk from the train station Lovely back garden for warm days, quirky charm (not a straight wall or floor to be found!), spacious rooms, professionally cleaned and well kept furnishings. A bit pricey but well worth it!

Can’t think of a single thing!
