Walmgate Cottage

The location was excellent. Very close to local amenities and attractions.

Floors were a bit wonky, but I guess that adds character. No dishwasher. Geese were noisy early in the morning.

Hot water tap in kitchen did not work leaving washing up needing to boil the kettle to get hot water

Great location, plenty of shops in the area including a fantastic bakery on the same road. Clean, big bedroom.

Didn’t realise the house was as slanty as it was, took some getting used to, I personally didn’t find the bed comfortable but my partner and daughter found it ok. Water pressure was very low, especially in the kitchen. Constantly washing up with cold water as the hot water tap was literally dribbling out water. Lots of creaks and knocking through the night, old house though so kind of expected. I’m nit picking though.

I realise the property is old but It is really wonky! My husbands belongings slipped off the bedside table it was at such an angle and he would roll into me every night and I’d almost be out the bed each morning! It was quite funny but even if it was propped up a bit?

Great location in the centre of york, just a short walk to the shambles and the Minster. Parking permit is a great bonus Well appointed kitchen and loads of towels and a great shower

Old properties always have their quirks - uneven floors and stairs just took a bit of getting used too but it’s a very minor point compared to the positives

Very central to everything, lovely cottage and cosy.. Bigger than it looks too.. All rooms were really clean apart from the bottom of shower.. Would definitely stay again if I came to York.. Perfect location and very comfortable place!! Great communication with the hosts

Shower in bathroom was “mucky” mould around the bottom edges but very forgivable!! 😊
