Very modern clean right in the middle of town very convenient for everything

It’s on the slant very weird feeling .I like to cook and there was everything you need except utensils

The location was second to none, it was a short walk to everything, from excellent bars/restaurants to the wall and the Barbican centre. We were extremely happy we booked this instead of a hotel. We would definitely stay here again, if we went to York

Not a criticism as such, but the home is so old and the floors are so out of level, we found that we rolled together in bed. Not really much of an issue, and in a way it added to the charm of the home.

Perfect location, lovely old cottage rebuilt in the 1700s. Excellent size kitchen with everything you need. All very clean, including cutlery, fridge, glasses etc. considering how near this cottage is to the shambles and all the main restaurants it’s very lovely, quiet and peaceful.

It should be mentioned that this beautiful old cottage is more than slightly sloped and un level. So much so that the beds and side tables are all at a slant and you and your items will roll to one side. The main bed is comfortable enough but you can only sleep on one side due to floor slope and the second bedroom needs a much better mattress as I could feel the springs digging into me and had to double up the duvet to make it comfier.

Exquisite house with so much character. Built on the Fosse, it felt like we were in Venice. Central location was ideal.

The location was great, it was a 5 minute walk to everything we were planning to do around York.

The property wasn't cleaned prior to our arrival, it had a damp patch on the living room ceiling which just needed painting. The bathroom needed cleaning around the shower and windows which hadn't been done, also there were stains and dust on the walls in the bathroom. The shower head holder was also broken so we were unable to adjust the shower and instead had to hold the shower head. These were all pretty easily fixed issues so the necessary checks clearly weren't done prior to our stay. Finally, on our last full day there we weren't told scaffolding was going up on the main building so we were awoken at 8am by the sound of scaffolding being piled up directly outside the front door or the cottage.

Perfect location. Central but quiet. Loved having access to outside space. A proper home from home.

As the property is very old it was on the wonk so it took a bit of getting used to the slanty floors, a bit like walking on a boat. Quirky. Lol. Not a problem though.
