Walmgate Cottage

It was just what we wanted. The building was old and quirky in that it had character. It was located within easy reach of the places we wanted.

I would prefer on site parking and not street parking. Even though there was a permit to park nearby, I was uneasy as to the security of my vehicle while some way away from the property.

We loved the cottage so much we have already booked for next august

Wooden gate key pad was sometimes temporarily Garden could maybe do with a tidy up ie big slabs & broken things in brick shed but apart from these fews things loved it

Great Location, walking distance into town center , was a bit tricky to locate but found after asking a local ! the lion pub across the road does a excellent pint of local ale called Ruby well worth a try. our first visit to York. Plenty to see and do public transport was pretty good to. quite location

If you suffer with Vertigo not the place to stay over the years the property has moved at an angle especially upstairs , whilst it's full of character, it does make one feel a little disoriented , takes a while to get used to NO TEAPOT ... it's the home of Yorkshire Tea ( message for owners purchase a tea pot ) personally would have welcomed a foot pouffe in lounge , after walking around the city sight seeing would have been nice to pop our feet up for a rest whilst relaxing in the evening .

The location was perfect. Cottage was well equipped and clean. Lovely decor throughout.

Perfect place to stay visiting York..great location and quirky little cottage with some history to it..we had great weather and made use of the garden at the back and had a most enjoyable and comfortable stay.

Gorgeous little cottage with sloping floors. Very comfortable and warm.

The bed in the second bedroom was hard as a rock. Without an under blanket on the mattress it was pretty uncomfortable. A small problem in an otherwise great property

Fantastic location right in the centre of the city. Parking was nearby so we were able to park up and walk the few hundred yards to the cottage to get the permit then return to the car for bags etc. Every possible cuisine you could think of is right on the doorstep (definitely recommend Marzano Italian and Tabanco Tapas) and the main shopping streets, Yorvik, Minster etc all easily walkable. The cottage was lovely and quirky (a bit out of kilter!) and very clean, with everything you need.
