The Leat at The Old Mill

Viv you are an exceptional host who simply has a property that allows guests to relax in a supremely peaceful and tranquil setting. The property itself is equipped with all that a couple would need for a relaxing break whilst taking advantage of all of the facilities that the nearby market town of Tavistock presents with Cafes and shopping most of which are independent traders and very welcoming. The nearby Blacksmiths Arms allows a great experience with the renowned Chef John Hooker being the man at the helm. You'll not be disappointed. But this is about the Leat at the Old Mill. and to this end it can only be described as immaculate and just perfect. The bed was a great size and above all the most comfortable, the apartment is a perfect size and layout for a couple and was as as warm as we'd hoped with an efficient system for heating in less kind weather. Its light and airy and equipped with all you need (provided you dont want to cook Roast Dinners, (but that not what breaks are about !). We loved it and Buzz and Woody the two resident Dogs were as welcoming as Viv and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time sat at the Shepherds Hut with these 2 little chaps for company. Talk about lap Dogs. As long as they could keep an eye on Viv as he toiled to maintain the exquisite garden they were quite content to sit on our knees much to particularly my Wife's delight. Talking Gardens the flowers already in bloom during our mid March stay were a picture already so in early Summer will be fantastic especially the wild meadow area. Oh before I forget the Tea Bags, Coffee, Fresh Milk and Bottled Water kindly provided by Viv was much appreciated. I could go on but dont take my word visit and enjoy for yourself. Exceptional.

Nothing at all its was brilliant, but I would urge that you do follow Vivs directions fully especially as you are in the final half mile to the property. Where a track says unsuitable for Motor Vehicles take heed, it means it. Do not try to think that notice does not apply to you it does. I found out the hard way. So thanks Viv for meeting us in the Village and not laughing at our mud splattered car.

Well equipped for our stay, cosy and comfortable. Perfect for exploring Dartmoor and a great welcome from property owner.

We knew it would be tricky to find and we went wrong initially. Fortunately it was daylight.

Beautiful location, very rural. Warm welcome from the hosts and lovely space - ideal base for couple of nights.

Very good hosts who take the extra mile to make you stay pain free 👍. Would not hesitate in recommending any couple to stay in this unique location to visit West Devon and East Cornwall.

The weather was not the best for us, but must expect in that part of the country sometimes. Just unlucky but did not spoil our experience as we once lived near the area.
