A lovely home from home. Lovely and quiet with all amenities. Comfortable and relaxing with a full kitchen. Would highly recommend and we would come back again. Bed very comfortable.

Secure parking. Convenient location. Comfortable bed. Good shower and towels.

Less than one toilet roll. Glad we brought our own! Kettle needed descaling, Coffee in jar needed replacing

The property clearly hadn't been cleaned when I arrived and when I complained about it the owner came to see and said the cleaner had had an emergency the day before and had to leave it but he assured me the bedding had been changed. However looking at the state of the cobwebs and dust in the place it looked like it hadn't had a thorough clean for some time and he said they'd had an epidemic of spiders! He never even apologised. Underneath the bed was filthy so that's clearly not been moved for ages either. There were finger marks on the kitchen cabinets, the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied and there was hairs on the toilet (which also sometimes gets stuck when refilling), and bits of food in the microwave and fridge Looking at previous reviews it appears the substandard cleaning is a recurring theme.The next day his wife came over and did apologise and offered me a partial refund for the cleaning charge which I accepted. Also, there was only one tumbler but about 9 wine glasses (odd for a 2 person accommodation). It could also maybe do with a couple of lamps in the lounge to make it more cosy. As stated in the listing there's no WiFi (why not in this day and age?) but it must also be in a mobile signal blackspot as I couldn't even get a mobile signal most of the time, so WiFi would be a big help. The radiators are rusty and there's gaps at the bottom of the shower tray. Something has obviously been removed from the wall in the bathroom, but they've not bothered sanding down the filler and painting it so It looks messy. Also it's in someone's back garden - stayed there before when they were obviously away but this time they were home and it just didn't feel private enough as could see into their kitchen and vice versa. I'm sure they could put a fence up to separate it, wouldn't take much.

Location was good and it was quiet. Parking also.

The bed was small and hard. My husband is 6ft2 and his feet stuck out of the bottom. When I looked up at the ceiling above bed there was a huge cobweb. The bathroom also not as clean as could be - bits on floor and hair. A shame as we have family in Birkdale - ideal location for us.

Quiet, secure, value for money, convenient location, clean, easy to find

Overlooked by owner's house (would have felt awkward had we wanted to sit outside).
