Villa Maria

The location is a bit far from the main city Split, however we like this location. It's quiet and really likes a local community. We took public transport to the city and it's about 20 minutes, not including walking to the bus stop. The host family was very nice to us and we appreciated. The apartment was fully equipped!! The Kitchen was also well equipped with all sort of cooking tools. You can find all the thing you need for a short stay. The swimming pool was a highlight of the stay. Although the water was a bit cold in September, we had a morning swim there.

The mattress was too soft for me. A replacement of new mattress is recommended.

Welcome was fabulous. Hosts can not be more accommodating. Villa was absolutely lovely with everything you could need for a relaxing stay. Little touches like slippers and dressing gowns were fabulous.

Wow, this place is just something special. The apartment we stayed in was just perfect, and had a lovely terrace, where you sit and have your breakfast. The garden had a lovely swimming Our Hosts Dario and Gabrijela were both so nice, they made our stay so special

Apartment was well equipped.

Situated on a main road and near an industrial area. So many mosquitoes at night when trying to sit outside on our terrace and when sitting by the pool area.

It was clean and modern. The location use great not so far from split center accessible by bus as well.

It was one of the best equipped apartments I've ever booked. Perfect swimming pool, illuminated in the evening. The bakery is next door and the shop (Tommy) is also close about 400m. Lovely owners. If you need anything - they react immediately, if not - you don't feel that they live there at all. I highly recommend that apartament.

We had an amazing stay at Villa Maria - particular thank you to Dario who was very welcoming. Would highly recommend Dario’s boat trip to Brać island! It was a great way to see one of Croatia’s biggest islands and swim in the clearest blue waters. Villa Maria is also in a great location, Strobec is a lovely town and 10-15 minute drive away from Split (great if you would like to stay slightly outside of the busy centre). The apartment was lovely and facilities were ideal.

Nothing, we had a great stay!

The apartment felt like home and was very spacious. So much was provided in the kitchen, it was amazing. The garden felt like paradise with lots of different fruit trees, including kiwis and we were told to help ourselves to the ripe tomatoes. Maria (Dario's mum) also brought us delicious watermelon to eat. We ate outside every meal, close to the pool which we loved. We used the local 'Tommy' supermarket 5-10 minutes walk away and walked to the bus stop (called 'Sine', 5-10 minutes) at the end of the road - it was so easy to use get into Split, just 2 Euros on the bus and much easier than driving. The bus showed the name of the next stop which really helped. We also visited the 'Konoba Bava' restaurant at the end of Stobrec harbour (25 minutes walk) which had a stunning view of the boats and mountains as the sun set - would recommend.

Occasionally you could hear people moving around or chairs being tidied outside which kept us awake (although we did go to bed quite early at night), but this was minimal.

The villa was great for a weekend stay! The villa was very homely and the hosts were very friendly. The pool area was great and quiet. Out room had everything we needed , including a balcony which was nice to be able to use from our room. It’s an easy 10 min walk to the bus stop into split, and a 10 min walk into strobec for local restaurants.

Overall was a great place to stay. Only improvement would be able to fix the shower head to the wall as well as it’s hand held

Where to start! The warmest of welcomes awaited us as well as two apartments on ground and first floor that had been prepared and furnished with great care and attention to detail. After staying in an nternational hotel, we loved the authenticity of the Villa and we felt a lot closer to the heart of Croatia - a beautiful country with proud and welcoming people. The pool and pool area was lovely, the Villa is surrounded by fruit trees, limes, lemons, kiwis, grapes and you must take up Darios's boat trip to Brac, another amazing experience.
