Superbly located 2 bedroom luxury apartment

Great little appartment

Location was perfect for us - very close to the train station and the city centre with lots of great restaurants and bars really close by, The beds were really comfy. The living space was comfortable and spacious.

It could be a bit noisy with people walking past the bedrooms at night.

Zero communication from the owners. Even messages sent prior to arrival concerning luggage were not answered. Had several problems with accomodation but despite several calls and messages I got absolutely zero response. Not good enough! We had a serious security issue. The outside door to the street was permanently unlocked because the lock was broken, therefore anyone can walk down the steps to the apartments. Worse than this was the door to the apartment that would not lock from inside or out either. No matter how much we all tried to get the door to lock we only managed this by pure luck once the whole weekend. This meant that the property was totally insecure and we just had to leave it all unlocked with our luggage inside all day and unlocked all night while we were in it and hope for the best. Far from ideal! Also the security light as you go in the street door did not work so you have to manage the steps down in the dark or get your phone out for a light. Wi-fi failed to work for the whole weekend despite us trying to rectify it. The router box looked about as old as the Roman Baths! TV failed to work the whole weekend, again despite us trying to reset and scan for channels nothing and of course no internet connection either. Tap in kitchen was broken. Cold water okay apart from constant dripping but hot tap nothing at all. Kitchen front drawer of cutlery missing. Bathroom door lock temperamental and my mother managed to get locked in. Luckily we could unlock it from the outside by using a coin. This is certainly not a luxury apartment as it stands at the moment. It is a shame that the basics aren’t even rectified.

It really is a superb location, and a comfortable apartment. It is very close to the Abbey, Roman Baths and the Pump Room. Also very easy walk to the railway station, Thermae Spa and lots of shops and restaurants.

Unfortunately, the apartment needs some attention, and the owners haven't responded to my phone call, voice message, text message or message through booking.com to let them know of the issues, which is very disappointing. The concerns are as follows: Feather pillows and cushions although I had contacted in advance about our allergies. No Internet service TV also didn't work (relies on Internet) Kitchen tap constantly running Microwave not working Bathroom extractor fan not working Missing drawer front in the kitchen Missing coat rack Broken attachment for holding the shower hose (main shower head still operational) Broken lock on the external door to the courtyard. The laminate floor in the hallway is damaged outside the bathroom - easy to catch bare feet on it. UHT milk sachets provided were well out of date. As I said, great location, and comfortable, but lacking in functions and facilities, and in need of maintenance, so definitely not luxury.

The location was great

This property needs a lot of maintenance. The faucet is still dripping in the kitchen. One of the drawer fronts in the kitchen was missing and another broken. Several of the drawers in the freezer could not be used because they were frozen shut. The Wi-Fi was basically non-existent (a new router could solve that) and therefore the TV was useless. This is not an apartment for someone with mobility challenges. There are several very steep steps to get to the apartment and when raining, are very slick. There was no place to hang coats - the coat racks/hooks were missing and closets were full of broken items.
