The Bishophill Gathering York - Sleeps Up To 12

Location fabulous.

Location was fantastic.

Shower upstairs is like a box. Carpets could do with a shampoo. Dust all over the heated towel rails. The freezer had apparently packed up the day before. Could feel the springs in the mattress which were small singles rather than a full size single. expensive for what it actually is. Only 2 outdoor chairs and 4 dining room chairs yet the place sleeps up to 12. For the fact that outlooks send you a fancy booklet with information you would think you'd be staying in luxury but you're not. I wouldn't book it again.

Excellent location and suitable for an occasion such as a hen party / similar. Toiletries present. Towel for everyone. Good kitchen facilities.

Smaller than expected lounge and dining area considering the amount of people that it can sleep. However, this did not spoil our time in the accommodation and we managed. No light in upstairs toilet, and dodgy toilet seat. Could not find a recycling bin, so had to put glass etc in green bin. Although reasonably clean, and no real issues the bin lids for example were very dusty.

We liked the location of the property.

This property is in desperate need of some TLC. The button for the toilet is broken in the bathroom and the upstairs toilet is extremely noisy when flushed. There was also not enough toilet roll left in the property for 12 people. We only had 11 towels left for 12 people. Our group were also disappointed to find that there is no parking pass on arrival, so had to find extra parking even though we emailed previous to arrival to ask about this. The living spaces downstairs are also small, for example not enough seats in the living or dining room areas for 12 people to sit together.

The location is great as central but not near busy loud areas. The space in the bedrooms was perfect for the 8 of us staying. It has good local amenities nearby as well.

There was a couple of appliances that weren't working correctly or had bit missing such a freezer, downstairs toilet and no iron. Slightly more room in the living room space as was quite a squeeze for 8 people in there.

it’s a short walk into town

the pictures are very deceiving it really wouldn’t accommodate 12 the lounge would even sit 6 of us. The toilet upstairs is really noisy to flush and can’t be used at night. No fans in bedrooms all very small and hot ( appreciate you can’t control the weather ) and very near the road so with windows open very little sleep. Despite what it says on website assume no parking and nearest carpark you would have to keep running v back every few hours to top up , they gave our one parking permit away was well !

Plenty of beds. The house was clean and quiet.

It's looking a bit tired in places. The flush is missing in the main bathroom and the window in there seems broken. There are no full length mirrors in the house. I think it would struggle to be comfortable for 12 people, we were a group of 6 and we found it a squash in the living room.
