Host & Stay - Abbey Hus

Absolutely filthy. We had to buy are own brush to clean floors. Complained as soon as we could about how dirty the place was. Lots of emails calls. Cleaner came out. Did nothing. Promised by the office we would hear from them in two weeks after investigating even although they saw the photos and videos and agreed it was bad. Moth past I did not hear anything. So email them again told them I’d report them .. we then got half the amount it cost to stay back as a refund!! My advice is check reviews before booking to see if it’s been cleaned

The furniture etc was lovely if it had been looked after and cleaned. Urine stain on sofa. Bedroom carpet lots of very large stains can imagine what from. cooker very dirty. Floors walls very dirty. Dust everywhere. Entrance stairs filthy I could go on and on.

The location and the price . Plenty of space

Dog hair on furniture ,no cutlery, damp smell, stains on bedroom carpet, cleaning could be better .no hangers in bathroom windows needed cleaning.

Central for our needs

No parking permit which added extra expense to the holiday A request the day before to pay a extra fee for accidental damage. Never had this done to us anywhere before. Had to pay it or we wouldn't have been given access to the accommodation Stains on bedroom carpet and couch. Damaged furniture Lack of basic items ie ironing board, cutlery, glassware, toilet roll

Location good.

Noise from internal adjoining properties in the house . Doors slamming and can hear everything through the walls. Felt like people were entering the apartment at times .

not being able to open the main room windows, there was no cutelry so we had to buy some, but everything else was there, and could do with a shower tray in cubical for shampoo etc,

Location

Needs a deep clean, window ledges, skirting boards absolutely dirty, kitchen - plates, cups, glasses and cutlery dirty. A good cleaner is needed.

Very spacious living room and kitchen area, brilliant view of Whitby Abbey Ruins. Location is perfect if you don't mind the hill walks and right by plenty of great cafes, restaurants and independent shops. Wine fridge was a fantastic touch. Apartment is very aesthetically pleasing.

The room does need some TLC. Mould/Damp in the corner of the shower. Shower door leaks all over the bathroom floor. Doors to the living room and bedroom do not close, minor inconvenience but just needs the locks adjusting. Carpet on the stairs leading to the apartment is loose and off the grippers in multiple places, something to keep an eye on to prevent any incidents. Also needs more 'normal' drinking glasses as we only had wine glasses... too posh for a glass of water
