A good location

Very difficult to gain access at the beginning. Had to phone the host and wait outside in the cold for him to call me back with the entry codes. When we got access the apartment hadn’t been cleaned properly with the previous guest’s dinner on a plate in the fridge. Only one overhead light as the lamp wouldn’t work. Contacted the host about this through Booking.com but still awaiting a response. Will not be going here again.

Unica cosa positiva che all'arrivo avendo trovato la nostra stanza sporca e in disordine, l'host ci ha prontamente cambiato stanza che, seppur più ordinata era comunque sporca. Le prime 6 foto riguardano il primo appartamento di cui ho appena parlato.

Premetto che dividerò l'unico ambiente della stanza in tre. SOGGIORNO: tappeto sporco, pavimento pieno di polvere, peli e perfino un pezzo di ramoscello. Il lampadario aveva la luce fulminata. BAGNO: soffione doccia non pulito adeguatamente e un pezzo guasto, ventola rotta, non andava. Grave per un bagno cieco. Un telo leggermente macchiato. CUCINA: Utensili sporchi e rovinati, padella antiaderente totalmente graffiata, INACCETTABILE poiché fuoriescono sostanze tossiche che ingerisci ad ogni uso. Purtroppo l'host non ha accettato di cambiarci il servizio in cucina e tanto meno concederci un piccolo sconto. Nessuna risposta ricevuta.

The space was really spacious, although the bathroom was as small as it could be. The locations was superb for me and my needs, it is close to two train stations and many bus links. There is a great collection of independent bakeries, restaurants and bookshops within a twenty minute walk. The floor lamp beside the bed was not working when I arrived, but after messaging the property it was fixed by the time I returned the next day.

The kitchen facilities could have been cleaner. The pizza tray had not been cleaned after the last resident, there were no t-towels to dry up with and two of the three freezer drawers were full of food and ice. The third drawer was frozen stuck making it unusable. The cleanliness was otherwise fine.

Good size bedroom and bathroom. Washing machine a bonus. Close to bus routes.

Clothes rack not supplied in room, must be requested when booking. Basic items like dishwasher liquid, tea and coffee should be supplied.

Parking space hard to get

Apartment had all the amenities - microwave, fridge, cooker, hob etc. With Tesco and Sainsburys nearby, it was easy to buy some food and cook it myself - saves money in having to buy a take away or eat at a restaurant.

The check in was difficult. I did not know my apartment number or pass code for the lockbox. It would have been handy if the apartment manager had texted me that information in advance or emailed me in advance. Instead, on a cold wet night at 10pm I had to find the helpline number and call the manager to get the details.

The flat was well located for my needs as I was working in the Southside. Its close to the station so easy to get into town, close to lots of nice bakeries and restaurants. It was also helpful to have kitchen facilities as I was staying for a week.

The furnishings were extremely basic and not particularly comfortable – a little would go a long way in terms of better bedding, a lamp, and a cozier chair/ sofa. It was not particularly clean (previous guests socks on the rug, hairs in the shower etc.). I had no contact with the host, despite messaging them during my stay. The locks on the apartment door were also quite tricky and there were a few times I thought I'd be locked in or out.
