My House Ahangama

My House was the absolute best place, hosts and food we’ve had in 1 month in Sri Lanka! The family is wonderful! And for the one week we stayed there we ate breakfast lunch and dinner at there place every day, hands down the best food we’ve had! And everyday they make new things to the rice and curry, so you’ll never get bored!

I believe rooms are not really cleaned, found used tissue, beer cans.. I also had to pay 1400 rupees more than what was expected from booking

We really enjoyed our stay at this place! Within three weeks in Sri Lanka it was the one we enjoyed most! Especially the green jungle atmosphere with all the beautiful flowers, plants and fruits. She explained everything we wanted to know about the garden and it’s inhabitants. Even tho there was no kitchen available to use, the lovely host lady made sure that we always had equipment there, to prepare some food ourselves. Also, her homemade food was incredible and affordable. You‘re gonna feel very welcome there and it’s a great place to calm down, but keep in mind that’s in the jungle, so you have to be ready to meet some animals :) 5 minutes away there is a beautiful beach. We would always come here again!

That we couldn’t stay longer.

My room was spacious and ok tidy. I liked the proper lights in the room, because I like to read in the evenings. Also the mosquito net was needed as there were many mosquitoes in the room.

The family is super sweet and nice, I felt immediately very welcome! The location is amazing, a real island of green in the middle of the busy town. Reccommended :)

I really enjoyed my two nights stay here, it’s a beautiful place hidden away in the green jungle garden. If you like being surrounded by nature that’s the place for you. Private room with a big comfortable bed, mosquito net, private bathroom, terrace to sit outside. Everything you need, lovely and kind family owning it, they will help you with whatever you need. Just a minute away from secret beach and close to Ahangama centre.

Great location in the jungle and a short way from the main road and Secret Beach. Ishan and his family were so helpful and the food here was some of the best rice and curry of our whole month-long stay! Cinnamon growing outside your door and fresh-picked curry leaf in your coconut breakfast roti. This felt like an authentic stay with a Sri Lankan family, thank you!
