I did not like anything about this place

I booked for 2 days, which was from 1st to 2nd March. I contacted the agent around 4pm and we had to check in around 6pm. The agents phone was on voicemail. When we got on the property we had no acces to the room. We had no place to stay for for Friday night. We received a PIN for the access key, it was not active. Agent mentioned that she doesnt know anything about the PIN, she will follow up with Bookings.com. Before we paid the refundable deposit, she mentioned that we can stay for Friday and Satuarday and checkout on Monday morning. Sunday morning she was sending threatning messages that we should vacate the building. When we went out to go and buy food, she doubled locked the room with our belongings inside the room. She was calling the security guides telling them not allow us to come inside, the security guides mentioned that they dont have powers because we have the acess key. She did not refund our money, we only used the place for 2 days and only stayed there for one day. We booked for 2 days which was R2700 and paid extra R1000. This is fraud, the agent name is gail.

The apartment is comfortable enough. Impressive she could actually get the cops to come.

TLDR: hidden deposit required, ridiculous check-in/out, host called the cops ---- The host tried to require a 1,000 Rand cash deposit (~ $50). It's apparently buried in the fine print under no bachelorette parties and not listed as a part of what you'll actually pay when you book. She finally waived the deposit instead of arranging to pick it up since I didn't have a local bank account to transfer it to her. She stressed that I should tell her what items I break while there. It was a stressful start. I even called booking.com since it seemed shady but they were no help. When I arrived there was a checkout sheet that had to be completed requiring me to count every dish, spoon, and decorative item. Since I didn't yet know I wouldn't be paying the deposit I spent an hour filling it out and there were many differences from what she has listed versus what was actually in the apartment on check-in. I was very worried about not getting the deposit back had I paid it. Possibly the worst was on checkout day. She started calling and messaging at 8a, which woke me up and I acknowledged with a quick message back. Around 9a while I was in the shower someone began knocking, ringing the bell and trying to gain entry (I had the security latch on so the door could only be opened a crack). I received further messages telling me I had to let the cleaner in. I told her and the woman at the door that I would be out at 10a (checkout time). When I walked out at exactly 10a the cleaner was there and down the hall there was a police officer. At first I thought nothing of it but he followed me into the elevator and got off on the same floor as me. It struck me as odd so I asked the security guards on my way out why there was a cop there. They told me there was a problem with a checkout in 402 (my apartment). So I guess he was there to escort me from the building! In over 10 years and hundreds of booking.

There was no warm water to bath or shower. My wife arrived from USA and just wanted to take a shower and was very disappointed with water not getting warm. We had to boil allot of water just to bath. What a inconvenience it was indeed.

The location was great! Very close proximity to the mall, and incredibly safe.

The pillows were not comfortable at all. The water pressure in the bathrooms could be improved.
