Spacious 500 sqft Studio with Balboa Park View

Everything was pretty updated and clean with a central location

A little bit of noise outside as to be expected anywhere downtown, but earplugs were provided.

Instructions were very clear and it was easy to get into the property.

I should have asked, but I didn't know I would need to climb stairs to get into the unit. I had a lot of things to load from my car into the unit. Luckily, residents and staff graciously helped me.

Pros: - Bigger than expected - Super comfortable bed - Close to Balboa park - Roku TV was great - Easy check-in instructions - Great value for what it is - Host is kind and accommodating Cons: - Area isn’t the best especially at night - Very thin walls and windows - Planes were pretty loud but they didn’t really bother me - The freezer worked more like a fridge - Needs some updates (chipped flooring and paint, stained couches, etc), but that’s just me nitpicking - Finding available street parking was a hit or miss Overall I had a great time and would recommend this place! It was a lot cheaper than other places and hotels in the area which is what attracted me to it but keep in mind you get what you pay for.

Only thing missing was a kitchen table and chairs.

Location was convenient to the airport, local attractions and restaurants. Easy access and we had no problems to use free parking on Sixth Avenue each day.

Due to the downtown location, it was noisy in regard to airplanes and (normal living) noise from upstairs apartment.

Very Bright Room - 15 inset overhead lights plus two lamps by the bed. Excellent brightness. Can be turned on in sections so one can vary brightness. 500 square feet - very large. Full kitchen with a gas range. Opposite Balboa Park so easy to walk for exercise if one wishes. Clean room overall except for the bath towels as noted below. Easy entry code. Wifi is stable and fast enough for work. We did not stream movies. We had a good price.

The sign above the toilet says NO TOILET PAPER down the toilet. So the host provided a very small wastebasket that fills up very quickly. It is not sanitary to be asked to put toilet paper after a bowel movement into this little wastebasket. Occupant is going to have to empty the waste basket often. There was NO garbage bag provided but you can ask for it from the office during the daytime if someone is there. For a room this size with a full kitchen, there is no table or chairs to eat at or work. This is absurd - the only time we have ever had no table or chairs for a rental. There are two sofas so we had to sit on the sofa for everything. We moved the two nightstands and made a makeshift table to eat at and work from the sofa. Not ideal though workable in a pinch. Non-stick pans are scratched badly. No paper towels or Kleenex were provided, unlike other stays. Both bath towels had dark marks on them so we did not use them the first night and exchanged them the next day. It is DIRECTLY under airplane flight paths to San Diego airport. They did provide two pairs of earplugs. There is street parking if you hunt but the host should warn guests that if they park on the street, the guest MUST CRIMP their front wheels against the curb in the right direction or one is almost guaranteed to get a parking ticket violation on the street. $59.50 fine each time. I feel that the host should put this in their email notes as it is very basic. The listing states 'free parking' - which is true if you hunt and know that you must CRIMP your wheels. Otherwise, it is very expensive parking. The walls and ceilings seem to be very thin. The occupant upstairs to us seemed to be running around extended periods and we could hear every step. Maybe they had kids.

Convenient location to access Balboa park by foot. Staff were very responsive.

The soundproofing in this place was very disappointing. We could clearly hear the footsteps from the room above, objects dropping on the floor, etc. It was very disruptive, especially at night. In addition, the noises from the planes flying over were so annoying. It was so hard for me to tolerate it.

Great space, location, and easy check in and access.

Not within the properties control, but upstairs were noisy and regularly brought their dog down early which was loud in the corridor.

It was a great location next to Balboa Park, which allowed me to explore it. Access to the laundry and kitchen were very useful. Apartment was clean.

There was only a small coffee table that was uncomfortable to eat or work on. It would be good if there were at least a chair that could be used in the kitchen. Also, the apartment is under the flight path, which took some getting used to, given the constant noise of the planes getting ready to land at the airport nearby.
