Spacious 500 sqft Studio with Balboa Park View

It was a great location next to Balboa Park, which allowed me to explore it. Access to the laundry and kitchen were very useful. Apartment was clean.

There was only a small coffee table that was uncomfortable to eat or work on. It would be good if there were at least a chair that could be used in the kitchen. Also, the apartment is under the flight path, which took some getting used to, given the constant noise of the planes getting ready to land at the airport nearby.

It was a great location and pretty affordable. We were there for a conference and it was a short drive to the conference centre. Nice to have coffee on the patio.

The only thing I didn't like was the lack of a desk. We had two couches which was a bit odd. Otherwise bed was nice and it was nice to have a small kitchen to save money from eating out every meal.

Pros: - Friendly staff, responsive over message - King size bed - Kitchenette - Lots of coded doors for security - Can park for free at metered spots between 6pm-10am - Very cheap stay

Cons: - Location is adjacent to multiple abandoned buildings, tons of homeless, and the street reeks of urine. The location made us feel unsafe leaving the building past dark. We only learned on the last day that we could park by the private entrance for free overnight, which was at least not 5 feet from a crowd of homeless folks. - The only seating in the room are two old couches with stains and rips that made the place feel unclean - The pillows they provide are huge and uncomfortable so we went and bought our own - Under a flight path except during 10pm-8am. I knew this from reviews and thought that’d we’d be fine noise-wise since that’s when we sleep, but the walls and floors are so thin that we were kept up a lot by street sounds and tons of noise from whoever was above us. - The TV turned itself on multiple times, sometimes in the night, and sometimes while we were gone, which was spooky. - I realize now I should’ve been skeptical about how cheap this stay was and spent more for a more relaxing-feeling vacation, but if you need a kitchen and this is all that’s in your budget, it did the trick.

I loved everything about my stay here. First time solo female traveler & I felt safe with all the keypad locks on every entrance/door. Manager/staff on point with meeting your needs or requests. Location was great! Walking distance was average 10-24m walk to downtown, Balboa Park & surrounding attractions. Otherwise if I wanted to save time I just ubered everywhere and majority rides were about 10m for about $13. The bed was so comfy! Manager even allowed me to keep my bags at the office on checkout day until 5pm before catching my flight was super convenient & helpful bc I didn't wanna carry luggage around for 7hrs so thank you! Thank you for everything & highly recommend ✨️

Once night/dark hit I was hesitant of walking around the block behind the airbnb around CVS area bc that seemed to be a little 'homeless area' and being a solo female traveler I just made sure once nighttime hit I got picked up and dropped off and walked along the main front street where it was more lit up, people out & about & Balboa Park across the street 👍🏼 so just my personal experience keeping that in mind for extra precautions & safety measures but they keep every door keypad locked which made me feel a whole lot better.

Noise from aeroplanes preparing to land at the airport, The apartment was not cleaned to an acceptable standard (kitchen tap grime stained, dusty blinds and curtains), The apartment is in need of an update (furniture and bathroom) and repair (window blinds), Long delay in warm water coming through taps in bathroom basin, shower, and kitchen taps.

I really liked the location. It was close to downtown.
