"Modern Loft Grand Central"

8.0

Easy access with codes for both front door and apartment door. Good central location and easy to find. I've stayed here before and always book it if it is available. Plenty of room for 2 people or even 4 people. Found all the required cooking facilities and a huge fridge/freezer.

My only complaints are the 10:30am checkout and 4pm check-in. It's on a street with lots of bars/restaurants so at weekends it's noisy and hectic (but I didn't mind the noise). Would rate it a 9/10 or 10/10 if not for the late check-in and early checkout. My sisters apartment was 2pm check-in and 11:30 checkout for the same night in a different building though.

"Fanatic location, apartment and host"

10.0

I had a very comfortable stay at this apartment, the host was lovely, helpful and responsive. The location is fantastic as I needed to stay very central and close to the train station. The apartment is spacious and I particularly enjoyed the underfloor heating. The bedroom is located at the back of the apartment so you're away from any street noise. Will book this place again.

"No heating or hot water for 2 nights in Dec, compounded by poor communication & management from host"

3.0

The central location

Stayed here with my son, his partner and young baby. We specified arrival time of 4 to 5pm. At 4pm had not been sent full check-in details so decided to go to flat and see if anyone was there who could let us in. Used pre-sent instructions to get in building and knocked on the flat door at about 4.15pm. Was answered by a cleaner who had not yet finished. I phoned the company managing the flat and the woman I spoke told us to go away and come back later. This wasn’t an option as we had plans for the early evening so we waited in the hallway and got access to the flat at 4.25pm. I told the managing company that this was unacceptable as we were now going to have to rush so I asked for a % refund and this was agreed. When returned from evening out, there was no hot water or heating. Decided to wait and see if had either in the morning. Had expected some noise due to location but had very disturbed sleep because sash windows don’t close properly and is gap at the top, there are glass recycling bins opposite that had bins emptied into them frequently until 3am, and significant amount of very loud revving of car or motorbike engines in a street nearby. In morning there was still no heating or hot water so I phoned the woman who managed the flat at around 7.30am. No answer so left a voicemail. No response all day so texted at 5.15pm. She responded to say check the fuse board and see if the fuse for the water heater has tripped. I did this and reset the fuse. Obviously a known problem as someone had put electrical tape on the circuit breaker, presumably in an attempt to hold it in the up position (but it wasn’t strong enough to hold it). Fuse tripped again soon afterwards and repeatedly so still no heating or hot water. We put up with it and checked out first thing. Despite my complaints to the host after this, I received no response and no partial refund as agreed. The lack of concern over issues with the booking and the flat from host are very disappointing.

"Very noisy but a GREAT location."

6.0

The flat is in an astounding location and is absolutely beautiful. It was easy to find and to gain access.

I noticed there were hairs in the bathroom and there was a lot of toothpaste splattered on the bathroom wall in front of the sink which wasn't very pleasant. The water for the shower kept going hot and cold and the pressure wasnt the best. The bed was INCREDIBLY noisy. It creaked every time I shifted in the night and there was a bottle bank or something somewhere very nearby that was consistently making a loud crashing of glass throughout the night so I barely slept. Not great when you have a big work event to host the next day.

"Way above the streets of… Birmingham"

10.0

A vast apartment, easy to find if you follow the clear instructions. Everything u would want was at hand, lounge area and bed were comfy, kitchen decent. To be honest I’d move in.

Only small criticism was the TV/BT thing was complex to operate and the TV didn’t have screen mirroring activated (so much easier when away from home than logging into other people’s streaming platforms) everything else was perfect.

"Perfect for stay in centre of Birmingham"

8.0

I liked the decor. The apartment was beautiful in every detail. It was spacy and cosy at the same time.

I was not able to make the shower run. Either it was broken or I'm not compatible with UK design :-).

"Prime location, warm welcoming and comfortable. Just take earplugs if you want to sleep."

8.0

The host sent very clear instructions seemed very warm and welcoming. Easy to get in with the set codes sent in seperate texts. A very warm and inviting apartment, clean and comfortable. Attention to detail was A~MAZ~ING loved the little touches like the pillow covers showing artistic images of the view from the window. Plus the little tricycle with flowers. Oh and I really want one of the bins they have that you just wave your hand and it opens without even having to touch the lid AWESOME (OK it does not take much to please me). Great WiFi, plenty of hot water (when used at the times set). Lovely little kitchen area with everything that you could need in a home away from home. Great location for amenities 5mins walk to the New Street Train Station. Tesco on the corner of the street. Lots of restaurants and foodie places. Also lots of bars and clubs if you are into that sort of thing. Theatres within walking distance.

Sadly being in the centre of the city they very rarely sleep. Friday night and Saturday night clubbers and revellers out in force. The architecture of the apartment block although old was tastefully refurbished to a high standed, sadly the windows were not double glazed so all the noise rose up from street level and was carried into the apartment. I would recommend taking earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Big issue Saturday evening with street cruisers (noisey cars revving engines and beeping horns) until around 3am. Also had one issue with the lift not working and had to walk up around 150 steps to get to the 6th floor. Was fixed by the morning. Thank you.
