Cosy Lakeview Apartment

Gorgeous view. Quiet street, close enough to town. We had a maintenance issue on a Sunday, guessed it would be over a day to have it fixed. Owners had it sorted in a couple of hours! Couldn't believe it, so good.

We'd read other reviews about people walking above and thought we'd be ok as we're good sleepers. Mostly was ok but the couple of nights we went to bed early, it was a little disruptive. Floorboards above and absolutely no insulation. People above we're just walking normally, just an older property without insulation so worth being aware of.

As with almost all the other reviews of this property, the view over the lake and having a dishwasher were the best things about it. The beds were also pretty comfortable.

There were a number of things that really let this very dated property down. The worst was the bathroom, which had probably the smallest shower I've ever seen, mould on the ceiling, and a toilet in a cupboard. The kitchen was also very poorly equipped with a broken vegetable peeler, one serving spoon, and unbelievably no chopping board which meant we had to cut everything up on a plate. The lack of any ceiling insulation meant that we could hear every step the people upstairs made, which was particularly annoying at 11.30 at night when we were trying to sleep. We reported this to the hosts who advised they'd have a word with them but unfortunately this achieved nothing. There were also 37 steps up to the property which we had been warned about in previous reviews, but the reality of having to drag heavy suitcases and groceries up and down was still quite challenging. I wouldn't have minded all of this so much if the nightly rate hadn't been so steep, but when you're paying top dollar you expect much more for your money.

Views of the lake were beautiful.

Pre warned of possible noise from apartment above but next level. No insulation between floors. Thumping footsteps and loud music until 1am. Apartment scruffy and dated. Musty smelling too. Not worth its price point at all.

View is stunning from this house. Rooms are fairly comfortable and living area is nicely sized for 4 people.

It is slightly dated and the fridge could use a little bit of cleaning. Also to note to go to the property you need to climb stairs hence this could be an accessibility considerations for some.

Excellent location with a superb view of the lake. Size of the apartment was very good.

The view was amazing and the facilities were good.

Very noisy! I was informed that there might be a little footstep noises here and there, however the footstep noises were very loud and at odd hours (around 12am and again started by 6am) . I was sent a list of house rules around noise and no talking on balcony after 10pm and such, I feel the house rules should be applicable to the upstairs residents as well.
