Lovely holiday home in Southminster

-location was gd,5mins from the station -convenience store just on the door step -nice,bright apartment -was offered late check in

-half a toilet roll for 3nights -no bath mat even though was requested -no washing sponge-just a used cloth left -no hair dryer -weird smell/dump in the bedroom -very hot as no windows in the bedroom,only on the front Would stay again if returning to the area

For what we had planned, the location was very good.

We were due to check in around 3.30pm, but running late we arrived around 5.30pm. Given the price we were paying we opened the front door expecting to see a clean updated facility, first impressions count don't they? Unfortunately our first impression was awful. The room was being lived in, the bed unmade and strewn with dirty towels, bathroom not cleaned and in fact the whole apartment was dirty from its current lodger. Apparently the cleaner didn't turn up and didn't tell the owner until late in the day. Ok, not good but we pressed on. However for the price paid we remained disappointed. The sliding door to the bedroom travels straight across a wall mounted mains socket, hard to believe that hazard was signed off by any form of safety check. Interestingly this same door decided to close itself in the middle of the night, sounded like a truck was headed towards the apartment! The fridge had to be unplugged at night because it was ridiculously noisey. The bathroom was still dirty and damp, it left alot to be desired. Overall this stay was very expensive given the experience we had. I don't normally provide negative reviews, but this is constructive in the hope others receive an improved service.

Very clean and tidy with everything that you could need. Very well equipped kitchen.

It was spotless.

There isn't no TV in the bedroom. There is only 1 TV in the main room and the sofa was so small. They also was no hot drink facilities ie no milk or tea bags etc. Plus the door locks itself when you leave so keep the key on you.

The serene environment, quite and peaceful.

The mattress can do with a replacement and if the check out time can be increased by an hour, if it means adjusting the price I am sure people will like it.

Firstly, it's a perfect location! Right on the high-street just next to the newsagents which was a bonus for picking up some milk & teabags. Huge benefit was the off-street parking which Mo allowed us to use prior to check in, it's just at the back of the property so off the main street and out of the way. Finally, Mo's communication was excellent, he kept in-touch throughout our stay and let us know the property was available for an early check in.

The teaspoons & cups weren't very clean and still had stains from their last use so needed to be cleaned before we used them but it literally took seconds. The bathroom needed a bit more of a clean too, there was some debris on the floor and the showerhead needs a descale. The rest of the property was clean & tidy.
