Gardens House

The location was great, right on the northern boundary of Varenna, a short walk from the train station and the ferry. The town center was a bit farther away, but easily within walking distance (the walkway along the shoreline of Lake Como is spectacular). The kitchen had no coffee maker, but there was a small market nearby (open at 8:00 a.m.) that offered coffee, pastries and more. This is where we had to buy a bar of soap because the hosts hadn't replenished the soap dispenser in the room. The room is above the host's residence, so be prepared for a little noise from their kids at bedtime. We would definitely stay here again, as the price and location more than makes up for the minor shortcomings.

Lots of stairs as the apartment is on 3rd floor. Too hard for seniors.

Location is excellent in Varenna, but unit is on the second floor, up stairs.

Location of the property and the view were incredible. The train station and the ferry boat terminal was only 5 Minutes walk. There is a small grocery shop close to the property. A lot of restaurants, souvenir shops and villas( Villa Cipressi and Villa Monastero)are few minutes walk. The apartment was clean and the owner was waiting for us to hand over the key. You can see the lake from the balcony.

The apartment is on the 3rd floor and there’s no elevator. You have to walk up the stairs carrying the luggages with you. During the summer months it’s really hot and there’s no AC. There were fans in the bedrooms but not in the living room. The owner was not friendly at all. Never smiled or said anything nice. We booked this 2 bedroom apartment for 4 people but ended up going there only 3 people. He told us to use only 1 bedroom since we were only 3. We ended up using both the bedrooms since we paid for the whole apartment.

The location is very convenient to both the ferry and the train station. It is also a short walk to the downtown area with restaurants. The flat is very large and well equipped. We stopped at the owners business in town one day and he was very helpful when we needed to find an ATM.

It was very clean and spacious! This huge, wonderful apartment is in a very convenient location. I would recommend it to everyone!

A good sized appartement for a small family. Good view of lake como through the trees!

There was only one small working lamp so evening were lit by a rather soulless main light. Changing that would be transformational.
