The location is perfect, 5 minutes’ walking distance to the train station Varenna Esino and ferry station. The apartment is clean with full facilities. The apartment owner is very helpful and friendly. Hope to come back again.

Great location … only 2 minute walk to ferry landing. Has good kitchen items for cooking.

The bath towels were like recycled paper; horrible. Had 5 people staying but only 2 regular bath towels available. Charged €15 heating fee, but then had the thermostat off and locked. Very strict 9:00 am check out time.

The accessibility from the train and ferry station made it such a good location!

So many locked gates and doors to get through. Many stairs. Check out at 9 a.m. No toiletriesprovidedtoiletries provided. No information on nearby stores.

The wifi did not work well and the host did not update the wifi password in the arrival booklet, we had the ask for it. The kettle did not work the host knew this and did not replace it. The central heating thermostat control was set very low and was locked away in a lock box, when the host was asked about this he did not change it. I find this too frugal on his behalf. I have never been in a place that I have not had control of the heating of the Apartment and it was cold .The host was unpleasant to deal with. The host misquoted the tourist tax and then hounded us for the extra 8 euros even though we said we would pay no problem. The electric gate was temperamental and the host was not happy to help when it did not open. Beds were very hard and uncomfortable.

The apartment was in 2nd floor and it was a bit difficult to carry our luggage and also to get them down.

The location is fantastic, Varenna is just beautiful. The apartment is comfortable and clean, wifi was very reliable. Having a washing machine was a huge help since we were already a week into our trip at that point. The shower water pressure is very good. The apartment is overall a good value for your money. We didn't find the stairs to be an issue.

The biggest thing was that all the towels were very bad, like sandpaper, I've never experienced anything like it. Check out is 9 am, which is quite early. Some small things: Getting the keys was a little confusing. The Booking.com instructions just say 'pick up keys at property' so we went to the building thinking something or someone would be there. We ended up calling the number on the sign eventually, and then the host came to meet us 10 min later. Make sure you've got int'l plan or data to make calls. The family that lives below is very nice but also quite loud sometimes (not much anyone can do about that, but just an FYI). No mirrors in either of the bedrooms, it would be nice to have one there when getting ready.
