Aura Ortigia Apartments

If a small map could have been included. For example take bridge on "to name of street," go x number of blocks turn left onto "name of street". Relying on google maps was not easy with intermitant internet service.

This was my third time in Syracuse and the accommodation was definitely the best one. Giorgio is very kind, attentive host who picked me up in the central station (and was willing to drive me back there on my way home), explained me all the details necessary. We communicated partly in English, partly in Italian (translator will help you :). I have the ground floor apartment situated in the side narrow street which leads into the coastline road. The location itself is exquisite, because you are prevented from the noise, but still totally near the sea. The main Ortigia square is about 5-minute walk. As a solo-female traveller, I felt totally safe there (but Ortigia and Syracuse are safe areas itself). The apartment was spacious, clean, with everything necessary for the cooking and cleaning. There is also a capsule espresso machine available. Giorgio left the bottles of water for me. There are also some guide books and other useful tourist information. Giorgio's apartment will definitely be my choice next time!

Be prepared for the limited or no mobile signal in the apartment (it's normal everywhere in this type of accommodation). The wi-fi is solid, but you can easily lose the connection in the bed which is situated in the corner. The TV is also situated in the kitchen area, so no binge-watching from the bed! :)

The host Giorgia is an amazing host! Super friendly and always available to help with whatever needed to make the stay easier and more relaxing. His apartment is very nice and thankfully not in the middle of the main tourist areas so we got a more local and real experience.

Super nice host - helped with the ztl (limited traffic zone) and the parking and whatever you need. Perfect location for historic town

Giorgio offered to pick us up from the bus station on arrival at Syracuse. He was particularly friendly and helpful. The room was located in the old section of Ortigia, close to the main attractions, temple, market, and duomo. Finally, Giorgio looked after our bags while we waited for our bus on our departure later in the day.

Be aware the bedroom is in a loft and is reached by a spiral staircase.

Great location and Georgio was a friendly and responsive host. Apartment was clean and had everything we needed.
