The location is very good, walking distance from many attractions, from the river and from a very convenient subway line. Chie was very friendly and answered all our questions. She gave us good tips, including where to rent bikes, which right around the corner and highly recommended. The apartments themselves are in a 120 year old complex. Very authentic and charming with many small details such as a working record player, beautiful ancient cabinets, an outdoor tub and many little touches which made our stay very special.

The fixtures of the bathroom and kitchen are quite old and could be modernized, without taking away from the authentic atmosphere. But they were definitely sufficient.

The staff were friendly, welcoming and gave us loads of advice - they even booked us an incredible restaurant just round the corner. Cosy and authentic, we loved staying here with our one year old.

Great traditional place. Excellent location within walking distance to Gion. Very helpful staff! Outdoor bathtub was fun.

A bit dark on the main level. Also very steep stairs to the rooms on the second floor but we didn’t have any issues.

Such a lovely property, wonderful location for visiting many areas in Kyoto. The hosts were so kind and generous during our stay, providing really thoughtful service for our group. The futons and bedding were so comfortable, it felt like sleeping in a big cosy marshmallow. The communication prior to our stay was clear and perfect, and we'd recommend the property to anyone thinking of visiting Kyoto. We would stay here again. Such a quirky little spot.
