Kaikoan

Our stay at Kaikoan was fabulous! We loved staying in a traditional and authentic Japanese home during our visit to Kyoto. Our family stayed for 4 nights in the Shikibu and Ukon, both were wonderful. The townhouses are in a sweet neighborhood, with a subway entrance within a 10 min walk and easy access to Kyoto sites! The entrance of Kaikoan takes you through a cozy walkway and we were greeted by Chie, who was lovely and shared all the features and amenities. Main level has living area, kitchen, bathrooom, upstairs are the sleeping areas. So many authentic features-tatami mats, period decor, old timey record players-which we used! Was super clean and the staff went above and beyond to be helpful-they booked a restaurant for us and continued to provide helpful advice during our stay. We can’t wait to return!

The hosts are very nice and they made a nice check-in for us. The place was exactly at the pictures, and the location is quite good, it is near a train station.

owner and manger met us and reviewed all aspects of room and facilities with us. Very welcoming! Lots of personal touches - felt like we were staying is a friends guest cottage. Location was awesome on a small quiet street with larger streets boarding that offered groceries, restaurants and shops. Definitely will return

Maison traditionnelle japonaise comme on l’imaginait ! C’est très dépaysant et apaisant car très calme C’est très bien situé: proche de tout type de transport mais possible aussi d’aller à pied centre Kyoto Les personnes qui gèrent sont tellement gentilles et accueillantes. Elles sont de très bons conseils aussi et très disponibles On a adoré et reviendrons avec plaisir
