This accommodation exceeded all our expectations. The lovely hosts took care of everything: they handed over the keys, introduced us to their wonderful Eden garden, prepared dinner together with a delicious cake and Madeira wine, provided a generous fruit basket, cakes and a basket full of eggs... We've never encountered such a caring welcome anywhere. The kitchen was very well equipped, and the home was clean and cozy. Everything was thoughtfully prepared. Even on the day of departure, the host surprised us with such care that we are still filled with great gratitude. If we come back to Madeira, we will definitely stay here again!

You couldn't imagine a more welcoming reception, thank You Abel and Theresa! The apartment was clean and well equipped, even better than in the pictures. Beautiful garden and terraces and the views of the city. The buses run well and the stops are right next to quinta, which is good because the route to the city is very steep.

Outdoor areas, location, parking were good however we had to leave due to cockroach infestation.

We booked this property 6 months in advance, looking forward to it with all the positive reviews. However, when we arrived the apartment was very unclean. The house had dirty walls, windows, squished bugs on the walls, cobwebs and surfaces that had not been wiped. The bathroom was not only dated but also visibly dirty. Due to Edgar’s father’s hospitality and the beautiful outdoor areas of the property we were willing to look past this however we then found multiple cockroaches in the bathroom! Edgar’s father tried to resolve this but after another night with more cockroaches (now in the kitchen), it was clear the issue could not be resolved and we had to leave and find alternative accommodation. We were then left spending a day of our holiday finding and moving to new accommodation and also out of pocket due to having to book at such short notice. There was no apology from Edgar and no compensation for the nights we had stayed with cockroaches! The entire experience was very disappointing.

The beautiful garden, pool and an amazing view of Funchal was remarkable. The hosts were the nicest people ever. Everything you would need was provided in the apartment including laundry room you can use in the house open 24/7.

The BEST choice what You can take if You planning to stay in Funchal! Gardens are just 500 meters. Bus stops all arround the area. Little cheap shops and also easy excess to the main road with car. We are frequented travellers, but We have never meet this type of KIDNESS before. Abel and his wife are completly helpfull and waiting Us with the very warm heart. Good comunication with they son Edgar as well. The accomodation itself is 11 out of 10. Why?Brilliant location, great view to Funchal from Our terases, swiming pool, parking spot, beautifull appartment, botanic garden feeling if You step out from Your accomodation! Thanks for everything! We will be back in the close future.

Upon our arrival we were greeted by Teresa, a really kind woman who gave us a tour of the beautiful property. He welcomed us with a fruit basket, a basket of eggs from his hens and a typical local dish. We felt pampered by his welcome. The apartment we booked was perfect, very neat and clean. I recommend this stay

Nothing to complain about

The location was brilliant and had amazing views of the city. The gardens and pool were also very lovely and the property were well maintained. We were also provided with fruit and other food at the start of the stay which was very generous!

Fantastic location, away from the city noise and with a wonderful view over the city. There is an incredible garden, a pool and a garage so you won’t need to pay for it. Also the stuff helped us with every problem we encountered and gave us a pie, bread and fruits at our arrival.

Many roaches in the property garden at night. The first night we found some in the apartment too, which was very uncomfortable. To solve we had to close and seal every entrance to the house, windows too, which was hard and very tedious. This also made the room very hot since there is no air conditioning. Also we found ants colonies in the kitchen.

We loved the warm welcome from our hosts, one of whom was waiting outside the property when we got off the airport bus (Aerobus), the generous provision of food, wine, beer and water on arrival and also fruit, salad and vegetables from their garden throughout our stay. We loved the house and the extensive and beautifully tended gardens, the lovely swimming pool and the views from our private terrace. There are two small supermarkets, a fruit and vegetable shop, a fabulous bakery, a chicken takeaway and a pharmacy just a couple of minutes walk away from the Quinta and there are also regular buses from right nearby that will take you down to Funchal and also up to the Jardim Botanico and the Palheiro Gardens.

There is some traffic noise from the road beside the property, but if you close both the outer and the inner french doors, it is much less noticeable and it does also calm down a lot once the buses stop running.
