Casa Dona Olga River View

This four-level home is amazing! The views of the Dom Luis bridge are exceptional and both garden spaces were lovely. We were tempted never to leave and to spend our entire visit to Porto in the apartment garden. My 10 year old daughter found the upper bedroom to be quite charming-- this property is ideal for a family traveling with older children. It's just below the Sé do Porto (Cathedral) and very convenient to much of Porto and to Gaia as well.

It was a little tricky to find, and we had to drag our suitcases all the way up the many flights of stairs from the Ribiera. In retrospect we should have started at the Cathedral parking lot and taken the short set of stairs down to the apartment.

Creative use of a special location at one of Porto’s old town steep alleys. Be ready for a four-level apartment with two terraces built into historic walls. It’s just a few steps from Cathedral square and the São Bento train station. Perfect for pour day trips to Braga, Aveiro and Guimarães. Due to a road closure arriving there was a challenge but Alberto, the host and his assistant Antonio helped us with our luggage and the departure transfer. We stayed 4 “winter nights” with lots of rain, but the VIEW is great and was the primary reason for our choice. As mentioned by other reviewers, not a place for guests with limited mobility – but an experience in itself.

The location is at the top. Easy to get where you want to go but remember to have to go back up. The views were the best. We could have stayed on the terrace all day. The place has so much character and all the space is used well. We called the entry the grotto.

Only tough spot was climbing ladder to get to beds in loft. We are a bit old for that. Great for younger kids.

View was incredible. Lots of spaces to store things if you stay for a long time. Well equipped kitchen. Grateful for umbrellas as we had rain during our stay! Obrigado!

Needs new hair dryer - as settings don’t get hot. Fine for us, but for anyone that struggles with steps—- the town twin beds are on the top floor (4) up a ladder. Lots of steps up and down as you might expect in this very hilly town— be prepared :)

The view is unbeatable. Imagine your private balcony directly facing the bridge and the river front. It is such a lovely place. The owner is so nice to offer snacks and a bottle of wine. The apartment has practically four levels, modernity renovated, comfortable bed. Shower was good and the washing machine was so useful. The first floor entrance was like entering a cave, very cool. This place has an entire yard, yes, there is a nice lemon tree.

The location and some interior design. The location is so hard to get to with luggages. The owner told us there was a shorter route after we struggled to haul our luggages taking the longer route. The shorter route is way better. Can’t imagine that for elderly or mobility insufficient people. The steep stairs are typical Porto, but it was not fun. The bathroom entrances are so low. I bumped my head several times at night. Climbing up to the fourth floor through a ladder next to the third floor bed was not so convenient at night and privacy was pretty much non existent between the two rooms.

The amazing view at all times of day made this a spectacular place to stay. The beds were comfortable, the home kept impeccably clean.

Located 35 steps down from the very top of the Truth Stairs, getting luggage in and out is a consideration. The home has four levels and some of the ceilings are low. These considerations may make it less appealing to some
