Makhato Bush Lodge 109

Clean, relaxing, just what the doctor ordered.

The lighting over the kitchen and dining room table...not enough light, hard to play board games. The carport didn't have a covering for our cars.

Nature, scenery, refreshing escape into the natural world, always a pleasure to recuperate at Sondela.

Limescale in the kettle was a turn-off, raising concerns about the quality of the water and the overall hygiene.

Unit needed minor maintenance

The house was nice and spacious. More than enough rooms for us. The wildlife was constantly at our doorstep (as expected and welcomed from my previous visit). The kids had a ball. My niece was obsessed with the bingo🤣. The heated pool at the main reception was a plus for my 1 year old.

The construction noise early in the morning and throughout the day was very close and quiet disturbing from the peacefulness I was expecting. The kids were a bit disappointed that there was no TV (not me).

It's the second time that we booked Makhato Bush Lodge. The house is spacious, modern but with a strong African feel. The rooms are lovely with king-size beds with quality bedding. The bathrooms are en-suite and beautiful. The living area is spacious with a huge dining room set and open plan kitchen which lends it to being open and social. My favourite parts of the lodge however arebthe the under-cover braai facilities and thebopen air boma for those lovely African late-night fires. Last but not least the animals passing by and having a drink at the water hole. We will definitely return.

All bedrooms are en suite which makes the stay very comfortable.

The convenience of a dish-washer would be appreciated.
