Location, size of property.

Ongoing issues with toilets not flushing, lack of basic maintenance is starting show - loose door handles and cupboards, bath and basin plugs missing or not working, shower head missing.

The fireplace and braai equipment needs serious maintenance

The location is excellent. The house is super cosy

It is a lovely house and the staff of Sondela extremely professional.

The house needs a bit of tlc. Maintenance somewhat lacking.

There were a lot of activities/pools etc for children at the reception area. This was a 10 min drive from the chalet though. There was a smaller pool close to the chalet which was brilliant if you were the only ones there as it is small and ypu feel on top of each other if another group arrives. The chalet is big and spacious and the outside showers are a bonus. We comfortably had 8 people stay there. Animals come right into the garden which was quite spectacular.

There is a conservation fee of R270 per vehicle which isn't mentioned anywhere until you actually book and then get told by the owner. This quickly brings the cost up. There is no outside table which means that you have to eat inside unless you are happy to eat with a plate on your lap which is very tricky for young children. One of the bedroom doors doesn't open from the outside so we had a toddler stuck in a room by himself until my husband realised that the bathroom window was open and could then climb through that to get to my toddler. The kitchen cupboards are loose and falling off their hinges. These things have all been mentioned in previous reviews but evidently maintenance isn't a big priority. Despite all of these negative points, it was a great place for a long weekend.

The activities only.

The showers and toilets were dirty.

Comfortable 109 and the bush setting. We were 5 adults and 1 child. The house sleeps 8 adults in 4 separate bedrooms each with a bathroom. There is a loft with 3 single beds.
