"Spacious and clean apartment but disappointing overall"

6.0

Good location close to city centre and check in was easy with code for key safe received just before check in time of 3 pm. Spacious and characterful apartment which was clean and comfortable.

Agree with previous reviewers in that the building had a musty unpleasant odour. No toiletries as stated in the description other than hand wash. Some areas of the apartment are tired and need attention. Also, the shower could do with an upgrade. Somewhere to hang towels would be helpful and some items such as dish towels/washing up liquid in the kitchen would be useful. There is a climb to the property so not so good if you have mobility issues.

"very nice"

8.0

the house and facilities are beautiful really enjoyed staying there, very comfy couch and beds and very helpful owner

the apartment is a little stuffy, they do provide air purifiers however both me and my friend were struggling alot with our breathing so i wouldnt recommend it to someone with severe asthma or breathing difficulties, however everything else was great

"Was so excited to stay at this lovely unique place but had an upsetting unpleasant experience."

4.0

Very quaint historic building and so pretty inside and out.

The place was not cleaned and ready for our arrival, after 28 hours travelling that was disappointing. After messaging and a sincere apology, she sent housekeeping and arranged for us to have a drink and bite to eat locally at her expense. However, when we returned and messaged her with a question as to the cleanliness of the linens, she replied with insults and refused to pay our meal. Pretty much ruined our family’s time there. Be aware that as it’s an old dwelling there is an odour that goes along with it, there are scented sprays to use if you need. The bathroom needs a little TLC as the toilet is loose and there are no hooks to hang wet towels. The kitchen is nice however there was no sharp knife for cutting or spatula for flipping eggs etc.

"Great little find"

8.0

Great location, clean and comfortable. Nice decor and plenty of hot water, towels, toilet roll, etc. Perfect for our weekend in Cork.

Slightly odd smell as mentioned in others reviews but didn’t spoil the stay. Shower could do with a bit of attention to remove black mould, but it was clean. No TV or radio which would add to the property.

"Hosting is not for everyone"

3.0

Host’s erratic behaviour and rage texting was a source of much humour throughout this weekend spent in Cork. Initially we were meant to stay for two nights, but due to storm Éowyn and Ireland and Scotland essentially being on lockdown, we could only come for one night. That was strike 1 in the showdown between the hosts and ourselves. Strike 2 came when we left the one set of keys provided inside, a crime for which we were punished by being branded “stupid” and told to find and fork out the price for a locksmith, because the host apparently doesn’t have spare keys to her own property. How odd. Her phone number is also fake. Due to this, we decided to contact Booking.com to see if the cost of the locksmith was covered by the company, or if all flights to the country being cancelled constituted an extenuating circumstance. The representative was very helpful and we mentioned how our communication with the host had been (horrific). Once the host found out about us contacting Booking.com, it was strike 3 and we were out. The only thing surpassing our surprise at the content of the texts (examples) is the speed at which they rolled in. Emma relentlessly rage texted with such fury and speed that I feared that smoke would appear from my phone. In short: this property is amazing if you don’t mind black mould and if you have exactly zero (0) interaction with the host. God forbid she actually hosts.

"Lovely place. Would definitely return."

9.0

Really charming, interesting place in historic area. Had a washing machine, which we didn’t expect to use but came in very handy.

No way to hang towels or toiletry bag in bathroom or bedrooms was a bit awkward. A clothes line would’ve helped as the washer/drier left clothes damp.

"Great stay in a great location. Only issue was the weather but that’s Ireland"

10.0

Very spacious 2 bedroom in the middle of town. Great facilities and well-looked after

Everything was great, just bring a laptop and a skinny vehicle and it’s perfect
