Historic Hideaway in Cork City Centre

Ambience was really nice, had character.

Arrived late afternoon to find apartment unserviced from previous guests. We were unable to make contact through system provided. We then forced to seek alternative accommodation for the night late in the evening where accommodation was extremely hard to find. We returned next day after receiving message to say apartment would be ready after 4.00pm On arrival we found only 2 towels provided for 4 adults and unwashed dish clothes. Owner still not replying to our attempt to make contact. After contacting Bookings .com I received a reply from bookings to say that owner had agreed to refund 80.00eu. Very unsatisfactory as our expense was 468.00eu for alternative accommodation for 1 night.

insufficient toiletries (no bath soap, shampoo, laundry soap). No code to keep nest heat on more than 2 hours at a time, limited towels and hooks for towels in the bathroom. Requested extra sheets. No closet hangers.

The check-in process at the property in Cork was extremely frustrating. Despite requesting an early check-in and being declined, which was initially fine, the real issues began at the official check-in time. We were supposed to receive a lockbox code at 3 PM via Booking.com, but it wasn't sent. Both the property contact number and messaging yielded no response. After a stressful 30-minutes of trying to contact them, I then contacted Booking.com -which took 15 minutes to get through to them, they were good and attempted to reach the owner without success and offered to find alternative accommodations if they had not heard back in 30 minutes. Amidst this, my phone died, further complicating matters since I had been traveling since early morning. Eventually, the code was sent without any acknowledgement or an apology for the delay. My 79-year-old mother and I were exhausted and overwhelmed by the stress of the ordeal. Although the property was adequate, it was damp and dark, reflecting its age, yet it had the necessary facilities.

For the cost of the property for one night it seriously lacked some basics Some coffee pods for the coffee machine and some milk in the fridge would of been a basic requirement No Tv, crappy little useless ironing board and no basic cleaning items such as shampoo in the bathroom Property smelt of must or mould, not sure which and parking required a major feat of driving experience

Beautiful home and has all the amenities you would need. Easy check-in process and super clean. Very comfortable bed also! Would definitely recommend and will return again.

The location was perfect, very close proximity to the city centre and alot of other attractions. We had no issues parking the car however we weren't able to negotiate the narrow drive. Parking was available on the street with discs purchased from the nearby convenience store.

Might be worth being aware that there is no TV, this wasn't an issue for us but some people might find this off putting.

Nothing, it was a horrible experience.

Horrible and abusive host. No hot water or heating for the 1st 24hrs 🥶 Had to contact Booking.com for help and obtain a partial refund as we received only abuse from the host. Mouldy. Very, very mouldy, even with the 3 supplied air purifiers running 24/7. Do not stay here if you are asthmatic or have any sort of breathing illness! Everything smells mouldy, including the bedding. It was also extremely dirty. Outside hadn't been cleaned before our arrival. Cigarette butts left on the outside table. The area hadn't even been swept. Stained/dirty pillows 🤢 Spent 4 weeks travelling Ireland and Scotland from Australia, and this was the ONLY bad review given. Wish I'd taken more pics to show it. Took a long video just in case 🤨

The area, it may not have been safe for a 74 year old woman travelling on her own, whose sister passed away on 8th April 2024 suddenly of Covid 19 and my other travelling partner whose brother was in St Vincent's Hospic, Sydney, NSW, Australia with Cancer and has now passed away on the 20th June 2024. Emma, who owns the apartment would not refund my €784.00 payment that had been paid in August 2023. Being a pensioner, I have lost the money, Emma informed me to get the refund from my insurance, I don't believe that is the right thing to do. There is no wonder insurances are so expensive!
