Studio Apartments on the Square

The very central location in Kelso was ideal.

The top floor flat is a LONG way up a winding staircase which less mobile visitors would need to realise on booking. The low sloping roof in the attic would be quite challenging for a very tall person.

Cosy little appartament in the center of town. The stairs can pose a challenge for somebody less mobile, but they were ok for us. The pub downstairs is bit noisy, but not as much as we anticipated and been prepared for after reading previous comments. Short walking distance to everything you can need, and plenty of free of charge parking everywhere. Place could benefit from a bit of refresh, especially windows and staircase, but it was spottless and smelled nice. Nice size shower, spacious living room, washing machine in the kitchen (a rarity, we didnt use it, but I love to have the ability to do so). Soaps and shampoo were a nice touch. Towels hotel grade, large and fluffy. Wi-Fi stable but severly restricted, didn't let me connect with my Steam account among other things, but good enough to search for nice spots to visit next :). Contact with the host was one of the best I have ever had.

After a whole day of sightseing we tried to watch something in TV on our first day there, but it was not showing any programs (static or loads of interferrence). We had our laptops, so it was not an issue, and the next day we bought HDMI cable in one of the shops nearby to connect it together, so we were able to watch something nice in the evening on TV thru one of the laptops. Bed is super soft. This is personal preference, so for somebody else it can be perfectly ok, but for us it was not best (we are not old, just a bit crunchy ;)). We tried to have ice cream in the parlour they also own, but no sugarfree options unfortunately, so no go for diabetic person, a shame (only places we had this option were in different countries and these icecreams were made on the go for us, somehow UK ice cream producers dont anticipate diabetics wanting to have a little dessert as well :) ). Place seems nice anyway and staff was super friendly.

Location for Kelso was excellent. Owners were friendly and helpful.

Window broken in kitchen and all need refurbishment to operate properly. Bathroom very small for a family.

Superbly situated in the town center with ample parking. Plenty of shops and places to eat, all within walking distance. An excellent little spot.

Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues , steep staircase to top floor. On street parking nearby can be limited depending on time of day. We used Knowes car park nearby 60hrs free.
