Castle Terrace (B3 R3)

Easy to find and access. Clean and comfortable. Recommend this for a stay in Dudley.

Every thing was perfect

Nothing all was bang on

Very simple though has everything you need. Clean tidy and facilities are great. Was able to work peacefully during my stay.

The room lock is a little temperamental but was a small issue.

Fridge in the room run out of gas so would not get cold.. Also fridge freezer in the kitchen was not on and the worst was the little fridge in the kitchen was off and dirty.

Bed and room was good

Fridge available which was good for keeping drinks in

TV should really be on the wall above the sink it's a weird angle to watch it. A socket on the left side of the bed would be useful too.

The location was about the only thing we liked about our stay as well as the Wi-Fi which was accessible and the ability to watch BBC iPlayer and Netflix, although I had to use my own account for Netflix.

The room floor was stained as well as the mattress cover being slightly stained. The mattress was also sweat stained under the cover. there was no place to store our clothes or even hang our coats as it was broken. We did try to get it fixed but the maintenance person came and inspected it and never returned. The pillows were unsatisfactory, being too thin, or uncomfortable due to feathers poking out, into your head or face. there was mould on walls of the shower and the toiletries were cheap and poor to use. The fridge was dodgy as it froze a number of my food stuff in the fridge compartment eevn when I turned down the thermometer. The kitchenette was tiny with hardly any room to do anything. The kitchen was poorly equipped, even though I requested staff at black country lettings to equip the kitchen to a satisfactory manor. They only brought pots and pans. There was no utensils to stir or mix or kitchen knives to cut with. I decided to fetch utensils from my HMO to use. The cookers symbols being negligible to read, which meant I had no way of knowing what temperature or setting I was cooking on. Also there was only one fire exit and lack information to know if there was another. We had two fire alarms go off, one was serious enough to have to call the fire brigade, but the first was a false alarm of sorts, and it was a hassle to get some one to come and turn the fire alarm off. In regards to the serious fire alarm where there was an actual fire in block 2, if it had been a more severe fire, blocking access to the only fire exit I could see, it would have endangered our lives, as the windows was not big enough or even had a place to safely escape to, being a fence right below where we would have landed. Also the alarm box was too easily accessible that when the fire alarm went off people could silence it with out proper investigation, possibly endangering lives within the building. There seemed to be no adequate fire escape plan, explained or even on visible show.
