Castle Terrace (B3 R4)

My 5th stay here, this time for 4 nights with 5 friends in 6 rooms. Basic but comfortable & mostly clean. IKEA furniture does the job. Good budget accommodation with good communications throughout our stay. Most minor problems were fixed quickly. We will stay again.

Some black mould in the bathroom. Friends found the online check-in & ID forms difficult & the many door codes for the street, corridor & room access confusing (keyless access).

The place was relatively cheap

There wasn't any hot water, the shower temperature couldn't be changed so I had to have room temperature showers. The drain in the shower was also blocked so I couldn't shower for long before it would overfill. I get that it's a cheap place and I wasn't expecting loads but the basic facilities just didn't work

Walked through the front door, didn't have to use the security code, was wide open, got to our our room, eventually, and was greeted with one of the dirtiest rooms i have ever had the misfortune to stay in, my partner sat on the bed and cried, we spent the next hour trying to find somewhere else to go, the window blinds were broken and mouldy, there was mould in the corners of the room and spreading outward, the kettle was dirty and was awash with limescale, neither of us had a shower because it was filthy, and to top it off, we were sent a text saying we had to be out by 8am, even though we had a 10am checkout, the reason, contractors needed access to the room, will never stay again and would never recommend it to anyone, zero stars.
