Portuguese Charm in Lisbon

Apartment very clean, in good condition, tastefully decorated with quality items. Parquet floor. A welcome half-bottle of local wine. Well equipped kitchen with tea/coffee and other basics (oil, salt, sugar...) you can use then replenish. Easy self-check in (requires a smartphone with data connection) and check-out. Walkable distance to city centre and directly above a metro station to go further. Comfortable bed (squeaky though). Reasonably priced.

As the owner has multiple flats in the same building, pictures on the site are not (all) what you get. Multiple units have been created out of large flats, so not all rooms have windows (we only had windows in the bathroom and kitchen, not in the bedroom nor living room) and you can hear neighbouring units' tenants when they enter or exit the shared corridor (but not when they are in their unit). The interior of the apartment is nice but the exterior view isn't and the neighborhood is more Indian/Bangladeshi than Portuguese. The Martim Moniz square and Benformoso street are quite unsettling in the evening, although there is no insecurity (other than cultural).

1. The owner is not very pleasant and attentive. After making my booking I had contacted them via the phone number provided and they were rude and hung up on me, at first I forgave this as a culture/language barrier but then I noticed the other reviews calling out similar experiences of behaviour. The owners responses to previous feedback is quite aggressive and concerning. 2. I notified the owner that I was travelling with my mom, despite there only being two guests and this accommodation being sold as suitable for four it absolutely is not. The facility does not support four persons comfortably. 3. Only ONE towel was provided, I messaged the owner about this and several hours into the next day they responded saying they would provide more, they never did! 4. Only ONE mug in the place, ONE coffee pod and spotty cutlery. The accommodation looks nice from the outset but when you are in it, it feels very poorly thrown together and neglected. 5. Overall communication was poor, as other reviewers called out, if you try contact with a query you’re often ignored and they eventually respond with blanket questions about check out in order to upsell taxi services to you which was frustrating! It felt like a bot service. 6. The instructions for the check in are a bit unclear, you only need the physical key after check in to open your apartment door, you will always use the app for entry via the other two doors 7. The apartment was not cleaned sufficiently prior to our check in. There were random bits of food and garlic dip for pizza lying around when we checked in. 8. As it’s an old building, noise travels easily. The apartment across from us had a young child which meant the usual noise from a child and loud kids tv being played often. 9. There is a police notice inside the building about the second floor operating illegal ‘hostel’ services and that the building is being watched.

The host was rude and does not understand when people are on vacation, they are not expected to be connected to the internet all the time. He says they have digitalizwed the checking in procedure with no body to meet you or give you the key. Even if you enter the premise, accessing the apartment is like a treasure hunt. Finaly I had to leave with an insult from the ost who said people like me should stay home and cannot travel.

The apartment was fairly well equipped and wifi was good.

Extremely rude and uncommunicative host. Access is complicated and literally impossible without wifi. I had informed the host about airline changing our flight and that we were arriving at night. He seemed to ignore my messages and kept asking what time I was arriving or referring to original morning arrival time. Because of the flight change (not my choice) I asked if I could access the building and apt wifi to use the app that you need to enter the building and he assured me there is wifi in the entrance hall, without explaining he meant the entrance hall on the 3rd floor!! So i was locked out at 11 at night, female alone with 2 small children and I had to ask strangers to hotspot me since Pedro would not answer the phone, only whatsapp and still without a solution. My 74 yr old dad had similar issues and Pedro told him he should have just stayed at home if he couldn't figure things out. Shocking that he would speak to an elderly man that way and seems beyond host's imagination that tourists may not have wifi on arrival. 3 difficult flights to carry all our suitcases up. Apt looked nothing like the photos, it was MUCH smaller, and was facing a horrible abandoned building. We couldn't even open the window because it stank of curry (love curry but no, I dont want to live in the smell). Microwave didnt work. Would NOT recommend this place, I'm a regular traveller and never leave negative reviews but this just a bad experience on the whole.

Amazing location. Easy to check-in. Flexible host. Very beautifully decorated apartment and had everything that we need. We had a great time there and will definitely go back.

Everything was good. Just to note that the apartment is on the 3rd floor, so some stairs to climb. It's an old house, so you can sometimes hear people and noises from outside (not too bad though).

The apartment was perfect for our family stay, we went with our two children and the host Pedro was extremely helpful leaving the cribs ready for the babies to sleep in as soon as we arrived from our tiring trip. We received a welcome bottle of wine and several amenities, the bed linen is very good and the apartment is very well equipped with everything you need for a week-long stay in Lisbon. When I return to Lisbon I must stay here again.

Nothint everything was amazing

One of the best accommodations on our trip to Portugal, the apartment was extremely clean and had all the amenities we needed. The location is perfect, the metro is 100 meters from the apartment and with this we can travel to all of Lisbon's attractions. Host always helpful throughout the stay. Uncle had to pay a precaution against damage in the proportion that was returned to us without any problem a few days after check out, we loved it and will be back!!!

As soon as you book this accommodation you will become its hostage cause you don't have opportunity to cancel it and return money. And the owner will take advantage of this ! We paid for the reservation, but the owner refused to send us check-in information until we transferred additional deposit of 300 euros to his personal card, bypassing the service. We are foreigners and we did not have the opportunity to make a transfer from our card. We offered to leave it in cash or pay directly by card, but he flatly refused. We were very lucky to find friends with a Portuguese card who were able to make the transfer for us, because we risked being left on the street with all our luggage after a difficult flight if we did not fulfill lanlord's conditions. It was very cruel because we were very nervous. We paid for whole week and couldn't get to accommodation ! Moreover landlord required us to pay the extra fees that the service has already charged us when paying for housing, and we had to do this too ! We had to pay by transfer everything that he demanded (300 euro deposit + 56 euro taxes, about which there is nothing in the description of the housing), so as not to end up on the street with all our luggage, but they still haven't sent us instructions for check-in, until we had a request to customer service. Of course, after 7 days no one returned our 300 euros to us. We had to communicate with support for 3 weeks, sending the same numerous requests to different employees, in order to finally get at least our deposit back. Additional erroneous payments were never returned to us, although support recognized them as a mistake. You can also find other reviews of this property that there were cases when the owner did not return the deposit of 300 euros at all ! Why does the service not respond to such reviews and allows them to continue to collect big payments bypassing the Booking service? We felt very insecure all the time.
