Beautiful cottage in a great location, great facilities and comfy beds.

We had lots of issues trying to find parking spaces close to the cottage, this was frustrating as we had lots of luggage to get there. Ended up having to park a long way away which was frustrating.

Location was perfect. Very nice little cottage.

Seeting in the lounge could do with a deep clean as a bit smelly, am guessing most people stay with their dogs. The shower door needs fixing and out door lights not working so it's very dark entering the property at night as there are some steep stairs to get in.

Central to all locations

Stained furniture, broken shower door. Broken kitchen drawer fronts. No light in porch or above cooker hob. Smelled of wet dog dog hairs on furniture.

The location appeared to be ideal, right in the centre of Whitby, although very difficult to access along a part pedestrianised road.

It’s quite hard to comment favourably on the property as when we got there, the cottage appeared to have been “double booked”. After a couple of hours, the owner eventually got back in touch with us after we had made many frantic phone calls, she apologised profusely and blamed “booking.com” for the mishap 🤷🏻. We were quickly offered another of the owners properties “overlooking the river”. Sounds idyllic? Erm, not quite… the owner had neglected to inform us that this property had only one bedroom 🤷🏻. We were then offered a 50% reduction on what we had paid if we stayed in the “new accommodation”, or a full refund and we could look for a more suitable property elsewhere.. Unfortunately it was the start of the bank holiday weekend and we could not find anything suitable, so we reluctantly took the owner up on the offer. Overall a very poor experience of using booking.com and “Cottages - Whitby”.. Who is to blame, probably/possibly both, we have no idea, however the overall experience was an absolute nightmare.

Lovely little cottage, cosy and warm, perfectly located for everything. But just enough from the main street so remains a quiet location.

Very dark returning to the cottage at night. Some outdoor lighting is needed for safely climbing steep steps to the cottage door
