Santa Luzia Apartment

There were only a few things to dislike, I have mentioned them below separately. I can confirm all the positive reviews mentioned in the earlier feedback. Walking to the old-town center takes 15min and you can come up using bus 21 or pay only 6 Euros for a taxi ride. If you are visiting with small child/s, I will not recommend staying here with a kid if you are frequently accessing Funchal the old-town center. Jose has multiple properties at this building. The one which we got was South facing (good for Winter but will be really hot in summer, but one room has an AC and you are also given a air blower-heater). The building does not have an elevator, but this was not a problem. As some others have complained about street noise at night, I did not find it disturbing during our visit in end Dec (might be because of Winter when the local people are winding-up early compared to summer?).

1. The garage and its very narrow pathway! -- Although this is an advantage that you can park for free, but it is very troublesome to get your rented car in and out (I have 10 yrs of driving experience) of it. The outside gate of the garage opens up directly to a 30Km/h zone and one needs to be mindful of the traffic as well as the sides of the car and the boundary wall (very narrow spaces) simultaneously. There are high chances that you can get the sides of your rented car scratched if concentration is lost for a few seconds. Turing a car in that space was really a headache. 2. Some kitchen utensils need replacement (knives, peeler) and a lid to cover the large non-stick pan would be good to have.

Apartment has own garage parking space. Near downtown (walking distance). Easy to connect to main road that conenect island.

We are very satisfied with our stay, the property was clean, our host welcomed us nicely with small gifts. We also took advantage of the car rental offer. Very nice and quick contact. Nice view of the harbour from the flat.

I was at Santa Luzia Apartment by myself and it was amazing. Comunication with Jose was perfect. He also offered me the car (Fiat Panda), picked me up at the airport and drove me back there in the end of my accommodation. The apartment has its own garage so parking was fantastic and without stress. The apartment is quite close to the center (just 10 - 15 minutes of walking) so there is no problem to find a good restaurant nearby. Also the shopping center is very close and all acesories for cooking is in the kitchen. I had absolutely fantastic stay in Santa Luzia and I do 100% recomend it. For myself I am absolutely sure, when I return to Madeira, I am gona use this accommodation again :)

Great apartment. Jose is a really pleasent and helpfull host. Overall just a great experience.

The facilities are good. It’s a comfortable place.

It can get pretty noisy and loud with the vehicles outside.
