Santa Luzia Apartment

Clean, spacious, close to the city centre:) Amazing host! You can rent a car from him too.

Very comfortable, spacious apartment with a small but nice terrace with a sea view. Equipped very well, you have in the apartment everything what you need, and more :) In a walking distance (10 min down, 15-20 min up ;) ) from the old town. Nice host welcomed us with a bottle of wine and some sweets in the apartment. We didn't use it, but it is possible to ask for a airport transfer, rent a car and there is free parking in the building available for the guests. We really enjoyed our stay.

The owner organized transport to and from airport. A car renting was also handled by owner, a new car was waiting for me in the garage. Parking place is a must since it is not easy to find a parking place in Funchal.

I’m not sure if it’s related to the area or to Madeira itself but there were a lot of mosquitos. We bought a cheap mosquito killer and it worked like a charm!

Jose the host is great, hospitable and very relaxed and the apartment has everything you need in life. It's genuinely an apartment suited for living, if it was your home, you wouldn't be missing a thing. It's also located within walking distance of more or less all of the livelier and more important bits of Funchal. You have bus stops, restaurants and grocery shops near you. I loved my stay here and would highly recommend it. P.S. if you're a light sleeper, bring ear muffs. Funchal is a very hilly city and the night traffic can get loud. This is not a fault of the apartment as this is a characteristic of the whole city, just a friendly recommendation.
