Whale Rock, Modern Beachfront Apartment

Was not expected what we thought according to when we made our reservation. The was busy on our arrival and swept the rubbish onto the corridor. Geyser was not switched on had to make a call and they did apologize. Bedding was not ironed. Unruly tenants upstairs we had no control over as they partied and very loud till early hours of the morning. We mentioned it to the security and apparently it occurs every weekend and they could not control the situation. Was not a pleasant stay at all.

The patio, the beds are very comfortable and the apartment is clean

There's an unpleasant smell and the neighbors were loud and not considerate of other people, they had zero respect for other people ...they had girls over who were drunk and played loud music then they would sing...it was just annoying

The location is well located, big and has a nice view; the blinds allow to enjoy the view; the initial communication, check-in and check-out were o.k.; when we brought things to attention (obviously not everything can be perfect), they were usually addressed.

We regularly go to Margate, just wanted to have some nice vacation. Obviously, not everything can be perfect, and we would not have made fuss about it. Instead of struggling, we tried to give nice feedback, just for sorting out or improvement. We would also not have shared the following here. However, it came out that our intention was not reciprocated by the uncompromising hosts. Hence, we think we need to share our partially not so nice experience as well: We quickly realised that the accommodation does not fulfil the 4-star expectation: 1. the beds had sidelamps, but in some cases no bulbs and no extension cords to reach the plugs (we received one extension cord later, but not the missing bulbs); 2. the chairs are of a very low plastic quality, creaking and giving the impression as if they were breaking once one sits down; 3. also the (not very comfortable) bed in the main bedroom was creaking a lot; 4. only one bar hocker; 5. we got quite bad, fussy, only thin linnen in the main bedroom, so that we needed own blankets not to freeze; 6. no real curtains to keep the room dark; 7. although full Netflix promised, on arrival only the children´s channels were available (issue was sorted out later); 8. besides the steak knives, the knives were not sharp - and there was not even a cork screwer; 9. there were a lot of ugly brown splashes on the toilet door (we shared the dated photos with the hosts, but the cleaning company did not want to take responsibility for this). When discussing these things, we were told that previous guests had a fight. Hence, it could not be made perfect on time. We understood, but then they took our breakage fee to buy new linnen for two rooms because of small stains on the duvet covers. Obviously, after the underperformce above (incl. point 5), we would have expected at least a kind of compromise since we did not receive the promised standard, but they refused and charged fully for new ones (without sending us the still good other ones).
