"Exceptional"

We had everything we needed for a short stay. Like a little home away from home. We loved the little extras like the chocolates, fresh bread, milk and juice. The host was lovely and really helpful with advice on the local area. The shower was amazing and the bed was super comfy.

"Very comfortable and a pleasant host"

The retreat was spacious, very clean, easy access to walks and a pub and very quiet. It had everything for self catering and nice touches such as home made bread, orange juice and milk .

"We will be back!"

It is super clean, bed is really comfortable, kitchenette equipped well, amazing walks just on the doorstep, Lou came over to check everything was well, very safe and quiet - we loved it!

"Perfect! Superb from start to finish."

Loved the little details; fresh orange and milk in the fridge. Lovely shower gels and plenty of fresh towels. Location was quiet and very peaceful.

Absolutely nothing. This is a total gem of a place to stay.

"Just what was needed"

Good - all the necessaries provided for a basic breakfast. The location was very rural, to the extent that the 'village' had few facilities (other than the carvery 20 minutes walk along an unlit country road), which meant driving everywhere. But the maps told us that anyway.

The TV should probably be better located in the kitchen/diner/lounge rather than the bedroom, but that's not everyone's preference perhaps

Extremely Comfortable. Excellent location for our purposes.

Traffic nearby is a bit fierce but not noisy. We knew about this in advance however so we let not put out.

We use the Middlewood regularly when we are training in the area, as always it is exceptional. Lou and Phil are great hosts and go out of their way to ensure your stay is great.

"A lovely, comfortable stay in very pleasant surroundings."

Lovely and warm, luxury bedding and fluffy towels, complimentary toiletries, fresh crusty bed, jams. Milk, tea, orange juice in fact everything you need for a comfortable stay. Really thoughtful hosts with an eye for quality.
