Gigi's Place

It wasn't clean the carpets and rugs hadn't been hoovered there was sand all over the toilet floor. There was hair and crumbs in the fridge and you couldn't use the kettle as it was all brown in the bottom and it smelt burnt. There was also an unpleasant smell through the property that started at the main door.

The property was very large, with a bonus terrace area. It was great for our group and the location couldn’t have been better. Will definitely look at rebooking in the future when visiting with friends.

The double mattress in the middle bedroom was a little old and not the most comfortable (as a contrast, my friend who had slept on the top floor said the mattress was the most comfortable he had slept on). The bathroom door was a bit of a pain as it kept randomly swinging open, in the end we just didn’t bother attempting to lock it. The window in the main bedroom cannot be opened, although this was only a slight problem due to the heat wave we were experiencing, I’m not sure it would matter most of the time.

Absolutely nothing. Very inconvenient

It was not convenient at all. We arrived there with elderly parents with bath, shower and washroom on the second floor which was not described in the house details on air b n b. An Air b n b always consists of kitchen with a gas cooking station which was not the case here. A hotel would be a better option. The house is on the first floor which again was not suitable for elderly parents and not described in their post. The house was extremely dark, dingy and sloppy with an 90 year old granddad. The living room was very stuffy as the windows would not open. The bed was sunk in and had so many holes in them. The linens were not clean at all with so many left unwashed in the cradle in the master room. Although Julia was responsive and high street was accessible but I would not suggest this to anyone paying that amount.

I booked & stayed only 1 night, so thankfully it was just a very short break. Any longer I would be asking for my money back, It’s located right in the middle of the high st so location is ok- noisy & bright at night when pubs kick out, and the street lights come on.

On entering the property off of a dubious street, I was greeted by a wet mop & dirty water in a bucket, a small freezer, blocking the walkway in a small area to stairs. Up the stairs, was a choice of toilets or the apartment door. Inside - a dark hallway leads to a “compact “ kitchen with an overbearing fridge freezer. The toilet & utility room off the kitchen, were oddly placed & designed - the toilet was oddly placed and narrow, and there was clutter/cleaning materials obstructing the tiny sink. The lounge on this floor was ok, the huge window, allows breeze, but is difficult to close. And was extremely dirty. Upstairs to a single & double. The single was basic but the window didn’t open (or was extremely difficult to open) the glass was cracked and dirty, some panes are covered with polycarbonate squares instead of glass, on some of the windows in the apartment, the ceiling was peeling way. Areas of the wall need a paint desperately. The double bed, needs to be replaced, urgently, when you lay on it, you sink into the bed, so sleep at an awkward position, leaving you with a sleep deprived feeling in the morning. Comparable to an air bed. The window in this room has been painted closed, so no air, so makes it feel stuffy. Up the last of the stairs, you reach a smell of mould & damp from a roof window, which could do with some care & attention. The bathroom is a good size but the door doesn’t close properly. The double room on this floor is ok, the window opens, but smells damp, The property is uneven, but you forget that when taking in the other issues. It needs a good clean & decorate through out the whole property. If you stay for longer than a night, you have no cooking facilities apart from a toaster and air fryer & microwave… so think carefully. Eating will be off your lap in the lounge or outside in an area converted to outside dinning. It’s dirty and the roof beams are rotten, disguised with outdoor lights.

The location was great. Julia the host was fantastic and went above and beyond to make us welcome. She responded very quickly when we had questions.Julia also owns the cafe underneath which is very convenient for drinks and snacks. Would definitely visit again.

Could do with a lick of paint. Noisy in the mornings as only single glazed windows as it's an old property.

It was spacious, right in the centre of town, clean , will return

Bed ,Room size ,Washing machine with Tumble dryer.I will come back soon .I will give 50 out of 100 to this property.

As i am a housekeeping supervisor .I did notice small small thing on the property like Electrical socket was not working in single room ,Kitchen area for microwave ,Toaster.Airfryer was not cleaned from inside there was some chicken hairs on it . Table light was not working in single room.Dusting was not done properly .
