"Stepping back in time, climbing to an almost attic apartment more than 400 years old, right on the Royal Mile"

Staying in a renovated 400 year old apartment. Being on the Royal Mile and hearing the revellers on the street just like Mr Struthers in 1632. Climbing up the steep narrow spiral staircase, many floors up. Hard to carry up luggage but all part of the experience. Delicious complimentary ice cream included for guests in the downstairs cafe. Free tour of National Trust apartments on lower floors, period furnishings. Fascinating.

Would be good if there was access to a washing machine maybe downstairs

Only downside was no hanging space in second bedroom, even a hook on the bedroom door would have been better than nothing.
