Herzliche Begrüßung von Maria, wunderschöner bunter Garten, freundliche Katzen, ruhige Lage, sehr zentral, wir haben uns wirklich wohl gefühlt und wären gerne länger geblieben. Großer kostenloser Parkplatz um die Ecke, Bäcker und Supermarkt auch.

Maria est adorable très accueillante et disponible. La petite maison au fond du jardin que nous occupions est vraiment très très charmante. Un peu rustique mais confortable, dans un endroit très calme. De plus l'hébergement se situe à un endroit central et très pratique avec des commerces juste à côté et un grand parking gratuit à quelques minutes à pied. Nous avons adoré notre séjour à Casa Vitoriana.

Our accommodation was not what I was expecting! What was most concerning was that there appeared to be a drug peddling team based outside our front door. Not only was this disconcerting threatening our security, it appeared to be happening 24/7. The noise that this sometimes generated woke us up on three of our six night stay. These people would just sit on the kerb side dealing, inhaling etc etc in broad daylight without any challenge from the authorities. The landlady said she was aware and had tried to get the authorities involved but there was nothing more she could do about it!! We may have felt more comfortable if we had been staying in one of the suites that was not at the front of the property. Oure ‘apartment suite’ itself was long and thin running from the road to a courtyard style garden at the back of the property, this made the whole place very dull with so little natural light. To add to it, the lighting was mainly low wattage dim lamps, so if you wanted any privacy you could not see due to the poor lights. The ‘kitchen’ was basically in a cupboard and the sink had a hot tap but without hot water! The crockery and cutlery were a bit grubby and the microwave etc were almost out of reach as they were on a high shelf. Again the lighting in the kitchen cupboard was just an odd led strip. The bathroom the a bit tired, everything worked but again the word grubby springs to mind. The towels were a case in point! The bedroom area was OK, even though it was a bit hot that the a/c needed to be on all night and even at 21degC it was blowing out really cold air that could not be directed away from the beds. This apartment did not feel secure added to by the flimsy front door locks and the lack of any security measures like an in-room safe. If you are using a hire car, firstly it is quite difficult to drop off/pick up your luggage as there is little street parking and the ample free car park around the corner is full from about 08:30 to 16:30 every working day. So I would not really recommend this place to stay in Ponta Delgada even though as a place to stay it is quite adequate and the location is very good.
