Dovecote Cotswold Cottages

We have been fortunate enough to travel quite a lot through work and personally and get to stay in excellent hotels throughout the world. We have never stayed anywhere as welcoming and as well laid out and designed as Dovecote Cottages. Myself and my Wife were astonished at the level of detail that Michael has put into the design of the Bothy. From the moment you walk through the stable door into the Courtyard garden you feel relaxed and at ease, this continues as you enter the property. Every inch of space has been used well and the work carried out to the highest standard. Nothing is too much trouble from Michael who met us at the property and showed us a around. Fittings and furniture are very tasteful and of the highest quality. Add to this the location, and you find yourself in an oasis of calm and tranquility, having the stables there as well means there is always something to watch. Venture to the other side of the stables and there is a relaxing garden with stunning views over the Cotswolds. Michael has added a fire pit here where we enjoyed a bottle of wine and watched the sun go down. We will definitely be making this our go to place for short breaks, it's also ideally located for getting out and about. We have only scored this as a 10 because we can't give an 11.

The cottage was beautiful and in a great location, the host was lovely and very welcoming, will definitely be returning.

It's rare for me to say somewhere exceeded expectations but my wife and I were incredibly impressed with our whole experience. The furnishings and finish of the whole place are perfect and we were welcomed with a tour, instructions on how to use all of the amenities and the host was kind enough to leave us a fresh loaf of bread and scones. We only stayed for one night to break up a journey but wish we would have stayed longer.

The cottage was immaculate, spacious and decorated to a very high standard. It was clear that every detail had been thought about it was satisfying that Michael had done the work on the property itself and it was evident that so much care and consideration has been put into it. There was a lovely little package waiting for us consisting of a fresh loaf, scones, milk, eggs and orange juice. Tea and coffee facilities were also provided along with a coffee machine. The outdoor area attached to the cottage is lovely and a real sun trap! We were also lucky enough to make use of the bbq and fire pit facilities during our stay as the weather was so nice. This area is a 2 minute walk away from the cottage - so private and an idyllic bit of land with beautiful views. Michael could not do enough for us and provided everything we could need for the bbq including coals and equipment. He had also prepared the fire pit. We loved that the cottage was near the stables and as this also belongs to Michael we were able to explore and see the horses every evening. Whilst the area of Churchill is quiet, the cottage is in an ideal setting to explore nearby areas. We would definitely recommend a visit to Daylesford Organic which has a wonderful shop and restaurants. We would love to visit the cottage again and would really recommend others to do the same.
