Anita Apartments

Location

The apartment was very tired and dated. It needs a complete renovation.it isn't very suitable to let in my opinion. However it was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Close to everything. It was a big spacious apartment and comfortable.

Layout of apartment not great. Quite dated. Our first reaction wasn't ideal as the key code we received in an email was wrong.

View of the beach and pinewalk was fab. Location was great for the supermarket, beach and restuarants.

The apartment is in need of a refit. The fixtures and fittings are over used and look and feel grubby. We did not feel that the quality of the apartment represented the price we paid. The apartment would be great for a group of cyclists looking for 3 beds, a shower and space to store their bikes. But this is not the best space for a large family looking for tech, indulgence and an apartment to spend quality time in a luxury, modern space. We could not lock our front or rear doors to our apartment door, and the door to the main entrance of the building was aways left open. We were disappointed that did not get the apartment the we though we had booked (the one with the large terrace in the picture on Booking.Com). The security around the balcony was not complete, so doors on to the terrace MUST be kept closed at all times and if you have small children on the terrace, they MUST be supervised at all times. The extractors in the both bathrooms did not work and although the showers worked, the shower and bath areas were grubby. NOTE - the beaches opposite the apartment, although inviting and convenient, often have a red flag, this apparently means that the sea water has high pollution levels. We walked around a mile around the bay to the beach in front of Llaüt Beach Bar.

Standard of fixtures and fittings were poor. Leather couch was burst. Bedroom door lock didn't work and slip bolts fitted were hanging off. Dampness on living room wall from leak at bath/shower. Main entrance from the street didn't lock allowing anyone access into the stairwell.

The location is great and the 2 BDR Penthouse apartment is very spacious. The view is amazing and the kitchen is adequately stocked with pots, appliances etc.

The washing machine was broken on arrival and while the housekeeper offered to do a load of laundry for us every few days, it wasn't as convenient as having our own. The 'complementary' cleaning products were missing, so we had to buy dish soap, sponges, hand soap etc, which is annoying for a 1 week trip. For a relatively expensive apartment it's annoying that they are cheaper with small things like that and toilet paper! The wifi BARELY functioned (if you stood in one corner, behind the TV, you could get 5MBPS downloads and they kept insisting it was 'fixed' when it clearly wasn't. The upper level is not full adult height, which is not shown in the photos. A normal-height person will bump their head. Also the spiral stairs are VERY narrow so you need to be careful on them. The upper level has been cheaply added - the floors creak horribly, making it hard to sleep in the bedroom below and if you turn on any lights in the bedroom or bathroom, they shine straight into the loft. The sun umbrella shown in the photos on the balcony was not there, rendering it basically unusable as there was no shade. Also worth noting, the elevator stops 1 flight of stairs short of the penthouse. Fine for us, we can lift our suitcases, but if you need a truly accessible apartment this is not it.

The apartment sign is set back on the left on a one way street that goes the opposite direction, so we took two drive pasts until we found the location - after that it was very easy - The outside door lock was a bit temperamental. The apartment is lovely and the balcony gets the sun from sunrise to sunset, is huge and very private, probably one of the best views in the town I woud imagine. The Beds were very comfy, although live music playing down below, in the bedroom it was very quiet, we didnt use the mezzanie floor at all during our stay. the shower was great and plenty of hot water at all times of the day with plenty of towels. we didnt use the TV or lounge area as we lived outside on the balcony for most of our stay, and we were very glad of the lift up to the fourth floor.

The kitchen is very tired and the equipment such as the coffee machine are cheap and not great (it leaked).The floor in the kitchen needs some attention as well and the whole area felt tired and not relevant to the amount being charged. The Wifi (penthouse) would not work at all, we did manage to access the Anita Apartments wifi occasionally, this was a large part of our booking the apartment as we needed to work, so this was very frustrating, especially as phone signal wasnt great in the town. Also we found quite a bit of glass on the floor on the balcony, which I kept picking up whilst we were there, I did contact J S Properties who manage the apartment but they did not reply. we just had to be careful not to go outside in bare feet. The Bathroom was fine, although one of the sinks is badly cracked and the toilet moved when you sat on it ! (I am not large!) There was a couple of j cloths, some washing liquid and dishwasher tablets, if only staying for a few nights its not worth buying more, but that was enough to keep us going and leave the apartment spcik and span, But, when we arrived some of the glasses in the cupboard were filthy so we washed things before we used them.
