"Superb"

I loved staying at the Shearers Quarters for one night on my way north to meet my friends for a tramping trip The staff were very lovely and welcoming, the cottage was cozy and it was so nice just being surrounded by big green pastures and no noise! I would definitely stay here again when I go north another time!

Nothing I didn't really like!

Beautiful stay with hubby and our dog we all enjoyed the piece and quiet, rustic vibes, beautiful farm will definitely be back with our children we 100% recommend. Cooking dinner on the fireplace was definitely one of our highlights

"A wonderful and charming experience in rural New Zealand"

The historic shearer's cottage has been beautifully restored, is well maintained and set in a peaceful rural farm environment It's rustic charm transports you back Into last century - away from Wifi, Television and (mostly) unnecessary modern cons. The kitchen and bathroom facilities are basic, but fully sufficient for a pleasant stay. The owner is extremely friendly hospitable and a rich source of knowledge and information.

This is a historic gem. Beautifully restored with period features intact. It was peaceful and the dawn chorus of the magpies was beautiful. I recommend the books about the history of the family and the property. The bathroom with a big deep enamel bath was bliss.

The bed was a little too firm for my comfort. Everything else was great.

The ruralness of it and the surrounding area, great for a nights accommodation to split up a trip north. Getting to see more of the country side than we would normally.

The only the surprise was that the toilet was external with separate access rather than internal access.
