Ice Age Cottage

The apartment have big terrace with beautiful view to the jungle. The bed was pretty big and the stuf was good. The breakfast was pretty big and good.

The atmosphere was very disturbed because the owner was staring at us the whole time while we were having breakfast. The owner took us from the train station to the hotel but wanted to pay for the trip. Very bad deal on taxi price to Mirisi. During the trip to Miris, further arguments about money and threats from the police, these things spoiled the otherwise nice impression of the accommodation. We can recommend accommodation, but order all services elsewhere.

The location is a wonderful place for a few days in Ella. The host is extremely friendly and helpful with everything you can think of. He organized all our tours from pick up at the train station, visiting the tea factory, 9-Arch-Bridge, hiking little Adam's Peak...to the next transfer to Udawalawe. He is very interested in giving best quality for best price and created all the days different fantastic sri lankan breakfast on the private balcony. Way to the center of Ella is only a few minutes by Tuktuk. Thank you again!

Nice place to be. A cabin all to yourself and everything set up with care and very well cared for.  Peaceful  and quite location.  It is very nice to sit in silence on the spacious veranda with a green view. Good mattress, good WiFi. Neat and clean. Owner very hospitable, helpful.Tries to help out. A good  and  warm welcome upon arrival.

This homestay has the best view in Ella, it feels like a corner of paradise with the birds singing and the lush nature in front. You will stay in a separate part of the house, with your own entrance, which offers the feeling of privacy. The room is clean and the owner gave 150% to make our stay confortable. Most of all, the breakfast was so tasty and diverse, fruit from the garden, homemade cakes and fresh rotti breads cooked by his wife. A big plus, he helped us and arranged tuk tuks everywhere and was always available for any information we needed. We enjoyed staying here 😊

The owner was very helpful and communicative before we got to the property. He picked us up from the train station late at night, and arranged transportation for us after eating dinner back to the property. The location is a little bit outside of the main town area which was good for us, nice and quiet at night. Every morning we got a huge breakfast made by the owner which was customizable depending on your own taste. He can help book drivers to different spots around the area. Good value for the money.

Property is in a great location for abit of peace and quite with an amazing view, very close to the start point to walk up Ella rock for sunrise. Host was amazing, friendly and helpful with the best Sri Lankan breakfast on the balcony every morning!

Very nice place to stay in Ella. Clean room with amazing view and nice balcony! The host is super kind. Breakfast is extensive and a mixture of local and international food.

Someone having difficulties taking too many stairs should not come here. The curtains are too transparent allowing tons of light to enter the room as of sunrise. It woke us up every morning but wasnt too bad.

A very special place , quiet and peaceful. Everything was perfect. An amazing view . Beautiful sunrise… with the bird singing in the tree. The host take care of everything in a very respectful way. The food is just the best you can get at a very low price. Highly recommended this unique place in Ella.

Our stay was to short…

Our stay in Ella was serene. The owner is kind, knowledgeable and helpful. His English and communication was awesome. He provided an amazing personalised breakfast that had ingredients bought locally and cooked deliciously. The view from the balcony was stunning overlooking the jungle and valley below. Beautiful sitting out on the comfortable furniture for sunset and watching the beautiful monkeys and birds doing their business. It was close enough that we were able to walk to Ella rock for sunrise, which was beautiful. Thanks for having us would definitely recommend and would stay again.
