Catalina's Got Cart Condo

No breakfast. Location not close to shops and activities. Ad said condo was right next to grocery store. It was 5 blocks away.

We were late being picked up at ferry by owner. We were the last ones from our ferry that were picked up. Owner apologized saying she lost track of time doing taxes for a family member. Pictures show entry courtyard to complex with about 6-8 steps. We were on 2nd floor and there was an elevator, but it did not take us directly to our unit. Steps were mandatory. There were actually 51 steps to get into condo...all going up except last 8-10 steps that went down into unit. With the elevator you maybe decreased the number of steps by about 10. This should have been disclosed to guests prior to booking. We were given 1 roll of toilet paper for 3 guests for the entire weekend. Lamp over dining table was so dusty we were able to write a note on it. And then a request is written out for us to tip the cleaning service! The condo was old with old furnishings and in need of much updating. It was more expensive than other rentals but boasts having a golf cart with it. Unfortunately, you couldn't park the cart in the parking spot under the condo, and it was difficult to park in front of the condo. And carts had to supposedly be off the streets from midnight to 6 am. So we had to walk 2 blocks to a locked fenced area by a church to retrieve and deposit the cart each night. Not convenient at all, especially with cold, rainy weather like we had. Again, not disclosed in description. This was an over-priced rental, with a shabby unit and cart, with many things not disclosed to potential renters prior to booking.

Spacious, comfortable, and next to many scenic routes. Allison was amazing, she was very communicative from start to finish as soon as I booked she informed me she was going to pick us up from the ferry and drop us off and alls she needed was a time. We asked recommendations and she was on point with every cuisine and we became return customers at most places! We will definitely return with the kiddos.

Very accommodating with early check-in and late checkout. They allowed us to use the golf cart as much as possible around our stay which we really appreciated tons! Location is tucked away in a corner but since the Avalon community is so small, I would still consider it at the most a 10 min walk or few min drive to most places. Apartment had tons of extras and most supplies any family would need. Very family-friendly. Full kitchen of supplies and a very short golf cart drive to Vons for those who prefer to prepare most of their snacks and meals. Apartment also had a pull out couch and rollaway bed which made our stay more comfortable for our family of 4.

This may not be the most accessible place for those with disabilities. There are a few sets of stairs as well as needing to park the golf cart off the property at the church in the evenings. It’s only about a few mins walk though so not terrible for most typically-abled people in my opinion . Still way worth it for the convenience of having a golf cart the whole time you’re there! Golf cart isn’t top tier either. It’s a bit slow and quirky , but it more than does the job and potentially saves you hundreds of dollars a day considering what is being charged by rental places on island + gas prices! Apartment is “well loved” and lived in. I’m familiar with this type of condition because our own condo looks like this. You can tell it’s clean but, for example, shower caulking probably needs to be replaced, some of the decor is dated etc. Laundry is app-operated and located on site . There are only 2 washers and dryers. It’s a bit of a walk away. Bugs in the halls (NOT in the apartment though thankfully) but I suppose that’s to be expected in the island ! very minor critiques but still well worth staying here!

tiny town so we were close to everything. The golf cart was nice to have, but we primarily walked, we used the cart just to get groceries.

The kitchen had the dullest knives I ever tried to use. The pots and pans were all dented and uneven, would not sit on stove flat. The refrigerator had a leak from the freezer and was wet inside. there is no sort of tupperware sealable containers if you generate left overs. The coffee maker was tiny.

I was amazing! Loved it! Great view!

I only stayed 1night. We should have stayed longer

We liked the warm friendly welcome and pickup from the boat. Alison was great. We like the location easy walk to shops and restraunts. We liked the golf cart we had alot of fun and it was a great way to see the island. We liked being able to use the kitchen for breakfast. It would be great for a family.

I had elderly parents with me, so they didn't like the shower in the bath. They were worried they would slip over. The decor was quite dated with a lot of clutter around. I felt it was overpriced for 2 nights.
